ABSTRACT% An experimental analysis the effectiveness of gas turbine stages with
cylindrical and twisted rotor blades 1i presented for various degrees of reaction,
as well as with suction of`iff_tfi`WQh the axia.1 root-clearance gap. Tepts of five 1
turbine stages were performed an an experimental air turbine under following condi-
tions -at the mean blade d1ameteri pressure ratio 1.4; temperature 360-390K; Mach

7he effect of the degree of reaction on the efficiency of a stage, was established
by direct measurement of variable losces. The results of the testing of the perfcr*-
&nee characteristics - are presented as well as &&grams Illustrating the behavior
of following stage parameterst the dependence of the Internalefficiency on velocity-
components for a certain radial clearancel the effect of the velocity-a-vaponents on
the degree of reaction I and a COUP&MIOn of stage off iclencies, of losses, and of
velocity coefficients for various degrees of reaction. The Interdependence of the
degree of reaction (at the roots and the tips of blades) and the lossesassociated
with the gas auction throuP the axial root-clearance gap was Investigated on step

that the reactivity increases with increasing Intensity of the suction; expert- .
mental formulas for determining the degrees of reaction am derived. 7he dependence
of efficiency an suctionj and of the losses caused by the suction on the degree of

ABSTRACT's The author "led the valve proportios of s*len1dos of mono- and blvalont
copper and aelealdos -end tellurides of ollver. After moldUW,, darft wMah
consIderable DO was passed in the nonconduatIng d1rootlon, the volt-ampere
charaoteristIos of the samples were measured. Th4a* chart.oteristics Indl-
*ato that the investigated samples possess rectifying properties. It is
noted that the telluride of silver only functions as a rectifier at very
low frequencies and is not suitable for rectifying commerotal, AC. A short-
coming of the investigated valves is that they exhibit high bystereals,
which leads to high electric losses when operating on AC.
