Title The extent of automatic remote control of sub-
stations
Periodical Elek. Sta., 2, 29-30, F 1955
Abstract The author describes the automation of two
35/6-kv substations which was performed in
1953-1954 In one of the power systems. The
automation was done according to designs ela-
borated by the State Trust for the Planning of
Hydroelectric Power Plants and Developments. The
automation includes: remote control of all 35-kV
and 6-kv circuit breakers and of the transformer,
remote signaling of the position of each circuit
breaker, 20 different signals for remote signaling

TITLE: Reduction kinetics of zinc, copper and lead ferrites with carbon
monoxide
PERIODICAL, Referativnyy zhurnal, Metallurgiya, no. 3, 1962, 15, abstract 3A79
(V sb. "Fiz.-khim. osnovy proiz-va stali", Moscow, AN SssR, ig6i,
185-186)
TEXT: The substances were prepared synthetically by reaction in the solid
phase. The completeness of ferrite formation was controlled'by chemical and
X-ray analyses. During the reduction of mechanical mixtures of Zn, Cu and Pb
oxides with Fe oxide, the regularities which are characteristic of pure oxides,
were maintained only until a definite temperature limit. A comparison of kineti-
cal data on the reduction of Zn, Cu. and Pb ferrites with data on the reduction of
structurally free oxides, has shown that the binding of ZnO and CuO into ferrites
inhibits their reduction ' but that of PbO accelerates it. Probable variants of
the mechanism of Zn and Cu ferrite reduction, are proposed.

ABSTRAM Gas exchange 4!~Mamics in relmtion to an orGanism. under hyperoxic
conditions is of medical and biological Importance but has received little
attention., To study this problem experiments were conducted on white mice
placed in a glass chamber with an automatic feeder. The chamber waskept under
water to mintain a constant temperature (22-23*) and oxygen was supplied
automatically. Total amount of, carbon dioxide exhaled was determined
by titrating the chemical absorber, after-- the _c~3eriment. - - The - mice were- - - -

4. 1963, pages 339-342.
Abstract: [English article, authors' English summary modified] In rats, after
development of a motor conditioned reflex and denervation of the area of the
carotid sinus, the positive conditioned reflexes were found to increase and
the inhibitory processes to deteriorate. In the absence of carotid afferen-
tation, higher nervous activity shifted in the direction of excitatory pro-
cesses, at the expense of the inhibitory ones. After cessation of the dual,
activator and inhibitor, carotid influence, the higher centers were more
sensitive to inhibition. 1 Western, 3 Eastern European references.

ABSTRACT: New observations of the tradewind zone are analyzed in order to evaluate
factors influencing the barometric field, and atmospheric circulation in the tropical
and equatoriai zones of the Atlantic. The analysis is based on the study of the worid
maps of the atmospheric pressure given by Stekhnovskiy (1959, i960), and on publica-
tions of the US Navy (1955, 1958), the Scientific Research Institute of Aeroclimatolo-

tion of the tradewind barometric field in various seasons of a year, the seasonal
shifti'ng of the axis and centers of the baric field, annual and semiannual periodicity
in the variations of the atmospheric pressure, the variability of near-gmund pressuiv

ABSTRACT: An instrument is described for recording the statistical distribution
of the amplitudes in stochastic ergodic processes. The principle is derived from
the physical interpretation of the significance of the distribution function of
statistically stable ergodic signals. The equipment consists of instruments commonly
used in acoustical laboratories. The measurement is simple and sufficiently accurate
to obtain information on the nature of the investigated processes. Orig. art. has:
