Subject spectra of paradichlorobenzene, paradibrow-

investigated. Authors attempt to find in 2ome cases
correlation between lattice structure of various crys-

TE:,'f- For the purpose of studying regularities in the vibrations of
or-ystal lattices, the Raman spectra of the following mixed naphthalene (1) and
diphenyl (II) crystals were investigated in the low-frequency range (40 -120 cm
(I) + 10% (11), 80% (1) + 20% (11), 2(A (I) + WS (II) and 10% (1) + 90;-.' (11).
The crystal growing vias effected from melts by the method of the drawn out-
capillanf tuhe. It took several months to grow the single crystals. The
spectra of 9C57 (I) and 80,Z' (1) mixed ci-jstals resemble the spectrum of pure M,
from which they differ by a somwhat lower value of frequencies, An analogous
effect takes place in the spectra of 90%, (11) and W% (II) as compared with the
spectrum of (II), but in this case line frequencies are increased. It is
assumed that the investigated mixed crystals have a lattice that is quasi-stucwml
with the lattice of the fundamental component. V. Pivovarov

TEXT: Raman spectra of crystal heptahydrates of the salts MgS64, FeSO4,
ZnSO4 and their solid solutions were investigated for determining the vibrational
frequency of intermolecular hydrogen bonds. It has been established that lines
217 and 250 cm-1 correspond to vibrational transitions of purely hydrogen bonds.
A definite correlation is observed between displacement of the OH-band disturbed
by the hydrogen bond and displacement of hydrogen bond lines in the range of low
frequencies.

ABSTRACT: Tkq authors obtain the low-frequency spectra of Raman lines of sulfate
and 'selenatevfrystal-bydrates with different cations. They consider the connection
between these spectra and the vibrations of crystalline octahedral groups consisting:
of metallic cations surrounded by water molecules. The lattice vibrations are in-
