A characteristic feature of radio-elements is their ability to
become adsorbed on precipitates and colloidal impurities present
in solutions as well as on the weals of chemical.apparatus. Thus
adsorption effects are of great importance in. determining the
behaviour of small quantities of radio-elements and.provide in-
formation on the state of these elements in. solution. The radio-
active isotopes of ruthenium arc one of the main.splinter ele-
ments and in the'present invest iE;ati on parallel. studies were made
of the adsorption of ruthenium on glass and of its state in
bydrochloric acid solutions-.
The adsorption on glass of 3- and 4- valent ruthenium in rela-
tion to the pH was studied for bydrochl ic-acid solutions with
ruthenium concentrations of 10-4 to 10-trof. Ultra-filtration
was used to determine the range of existence in these solutions

Abstyact: Least effective is heating of aggregate by means of steam pipes in
the bin. "Steam needle" 30 = in diameter with steam pressure of
2 atmospheres heats In 2.5 hours a stack with a 75 cm radius.
Radius of action of "air needle" (hot air) is of 50 Cm in gravel
and 25 in sand. Heating furnace of continuous operation based on
SSSM-022 gravel washer raises temperature of the sand to 330 in 2
minutes. Most effective from the standpoint of duration is heating
of gravel and crushed stone with hot water. Duration of heating
cycle is of .1-1,.5 minutes.

TEXT: The composition of the gasoline fraction obtained from a liquid
phase hydrogenation product from mazout of Ramashkin and And1zhan petroleum
was Investigated in order to improve the efficiency of hydrogenation plants.
.The amount of the gasoline frantion, separated by fractional distillation in
a laboratory-scale column, was 26.1% of neutraloil, 0.67% (2.7% of the methane-
naphthenic fraction) of which were hydrocarbons boiling At 20 - 500C. 7he

latter contain 1.01% 2-methylbutane, 0.93% n-pentane, and 0.75% non-saturated
hydrocarbons, or a small quantity of cyclopentane. Determinations by the
GROZNii method [Abstracter's note: not described here) showed the "Ollowins
composition of the investigated gasoline: 8% non-saturated, 25% aromatic, 17.5%
naphthenic, and 49.2% paraffinic hydrocarbons. The high content of aromatic
hydrocarbons indicates the usefulness of this gasoline as automobile fuel.
The single components in the methane-naphthenlo fractions were separated also
chromatographically on MCM (ShSM) 60 - 150 mesh silica gel, with 12 activity
units. The final identification of each component was carried out by means
of Raman spoctra. 117 compounds,l.e. about 77% of the methane-naphthenic con-
centrate were identified and some regularities obzerved. It was observed
that naphthenes contain only 12% compounds with quaternary carbon atoms,
while paraffinic contain 29.0%. Naphthenes with quaternary atoms are apparent-
ly less stable in l1quid-phase hydrogenations. Aromatic hydrocarbons were
separated In the present study chromatogilLphically and then by fractional
distillation into 34 fractions. 14 compounds were identified by means of
Raman spectra ~OneaZM-51 (ISP-5i) device] and ultraviolet spootrA [on a
CO -4 (sp-4 d vice]. The compositon of tho aromatic fraction indicates

the uselessness of the Investigated gasoline fraction for the chemical In-
dustry. The high content of aromatic compounds and the composition of the
methane-naphthenic fraction demonstrates on the other handthat the investiga-
ted gasoline fraction could be a suitable automobile fuel. There are I figure
