amounts of ohloroqu-n diphosphate (single dose of 500 m-/kg orally, or in
the food at 0.1 z" concentration for 6 days), the maximal dose of chloroquin
demonstrable~ in the rib cartilage of the rats is 0.08 ml4/kg. Under 5imilar
experimental conc.itions, there is no significant difference between the
chloroquin content (0-05-0-06 mm/kg) of the foot of rats in which arthritis
has been producec. with formalin or kaolin and the contrDl foot of the same*

Abstract- [Authors' Hungarian summary] The case of a 9 year old boy is
described who was a hospitalized patient of the authors for 4 months because
of polyarthritis, keratoconjunctivi-!,is and urethritis and was under their regu.,
lar observation for 17 more months,after his discharge. The disease was also
accompanied by stomatitis, enteritis and various nervous systemic symptoms.
On the basis of the symptom complex and the course, the disease is con-
sidered to be Reiter's syndrome. Based on literature data and on the case
observed, the etiology of the syndrome and its therapeutic possibilities

TITLE, Interaction between the rotation and spin in the
diatomic molecule
PERIODICAL: Optika i spektroakopiya, v.12, no.1, 1962, 17-21
TEXT: After a brief introduction explaining the rotation-spin
interactions and references to its mathematical representation
which led to 1he description of the fine structure observed
during the multiplet splitting, the author explained the nature
of the-additional irreducible Kramers' terms for the spin orbital
interaction (Ref.5: J.A.Kramers. Zs. Phys., v.58, 1929, 436)
and hence proceeded to formulate an explicit form of interaction
between the rotation and the spin, which hitherto has been only
known for the Hund's case (b). The latter is only applicable
directly to the multiplet X terms, for all values of the
rotational quantum number. Howei-er, according to R.N,Dixon
(Ref,7: Canad,. J. Phys., V-37, 1959t 1171), the interaction occurs
also on the F1 terms. The 11 terms with low rotating quantum
numbers are usually closer to the Hund case (a) rather than (b).

For this reason, the author developed the explicit form of
interiction between rotation and spin for the 2n , 2 .4., 3 rt 3L
and t1 terms. This was achieved by introducing into the
Kramers' transformations, in addition to the position and velocity
coordinates of the electrons, coordinates of spin in a system
moving together with the molecule. In this way, the terms were
expressed as the components of a total angular momentum of a
molecule referred to a coordinate system coupled with tha molecule,
Further development led to the formulation of the rotation.-spin
interaction for Hundvs (a) case, wliich in turn was used to define
the specific intermediate case functions. The ultimate forms
hold for any value of the coupling constant and the rotational
quantum number. As far as the pr~xctical application of this
method is concerned, the two examples quoted by the author. viz.
the presence of the rotation:ssin interaction in the A3 r1i ' term
of tho NF1 molecule and in th f1tiarm of the PH molecule, are
somewhat unfortunate since in the first case with the J > 3, the
straightforward Hund's (b) is applicable and in the second case in
spite of the apparent intermediate case J < 11 and the
