The authors inveat:gated the conditions Qf adsorption of Fe ions S an -grairs of quartz wad t.'r ~~ f lo--U'-i,.bi'Lity' of 'quartz at various pg. The curves ob- tained have shown that the maximt,rr of'the Fe ion adsorption -11es in the neutral rx.-gion, and t-he adsorption in an acid medium is completely reversible, while the actsorpti3n in alkaline eaid, particularly, waakly alkaline Tegions is partially r*tversible. 7he maximum o' the flotability of' quartz activated by Fe ions lies A irt the w,)akly alkaline medium, It is presumed that the Fe ionis -prezent in the Pulp and adsorbed on the qAartz a-arface are in the form of hydroxides which have the stabLeA form in a neu;ral arl weakly alkaline medium. A complex-former potassiinn ferrocyanide, wh.; ch forms a strong complex with Fe Ions was used for Cerd 1/2 S/137/62/000/001/008/237 Charactei, istic featuxea Ao6o/Aiol deactivall, ing 'the quartz. FlotuatJ on 'experiments have shown that Fe in the form of' a com..)lex does not activate tke quartz an.d the use of potassium ferrocyanide octnaiderably deteriorates she quertz flotation, at the same time improving the seleotivi.ty. of the flotati~xn of F3 minerals and quartz. 'The coiclusion is drawn that the mothod of binding tY,e acti-ating, ions :Lr, 41-.he flotation of Fe ores may simplify the problem of selecting FL, minerals and quartz. M. Inst Title The Use of Arinoquinaerine in Trichomoniasis of Bulls. Orig Pub Sots. tvar4l-nnitstvo, 1958, No 3, 57-59 Abstract Bulls affected with trichomoniasis were treated with in- fusions of aminoquinacrine (1) into the preputial sac (250 ml of a 1-2 perceilt solution) and with intravenous injections of the preparation (twice with an interval of 48 hours, a 0.0035 U/kg dose of the solution was given. Of a total of 26 treated bulls, 5 bulls were found to have trichomonades. Pregnancy and parturition progressed normally in cows and heifers which were mated with cured bulls. Used in the above mentioned dosage, (I) proved to be nontoxic. -- P.P.
