ABSTRACT: New developers were tested with four kinds of photographic plates manu-
factured by the Agfa company. These were the illetol-hydroquinore developers with the
addition of hydrazine (0.2 gm/liter) and triazobenzene (0.1 gm/litcl:j, the Phini-
done-hyd ro qu i none developer JD-67, and the ZMetol-phosphate developei: :1,Y. Sensitograms
were obtain,~d with the above developers in 2,4,8,16, and 32 min using the FSR-4 sensi~,
tometer. The kinetic development curves were graphed. The results are exhibited in
the form of curved of sensitivity S0,2 as function of the fog Do. and tables con-
taining the entries of the sensitivity increase S0,2 relative to that obtained with
reference photographic plates developed with the Chibisov developer. it is noted
that the addition of hydrazine somewhat increases the sensitivity of Astro photo-
graphic plates. For the Astro "special" and the Isopan ISS plates the beat results
were obtained with the hydrazino and triazobenzene developers. The addition of

only triazobenzene to the Chibisov developer caused the sensitivity o,-- Kodak OaO
plates to increase by a factor of 1.5. The Phenidone-hydroquinone and the Chibisov
developers; gave similar results. The Metol-phosphate developer MF gave a somewhat
decreased sensitivity and very small values of y but the fields with small density

ABSTRACT: Due to the large amount of power consumed by the RTM relay
and the insufficient power of the current transformers, the
short circuit current is not much greater than the normal
one and therefore it is difficult to provide protection for
networks of 6-35 kv by means of RTM or RTV current relays
built into the wires. The power given out by the current
transformers depends on the magnitude of its primary current
and the load impedance is determined by the value of the re-
sistance of the RTM relay, which is 2 to 2.2 ohms at the
starting moment. For this reason, the current transformer
can only operate the relay in the presence of currents larg-
er than or equal to its nominal current. However,in prac-
tice, the nominal current of the transformers is seldom 2 or
Card 1/2 more times greater than the maximum current of the line.

Therefore, in order that the transformer produces the ne-
cessary current to operate the relay in the presence of cur-
rents less than its nominal current, its load impedance must
be increased. This can be done by increasing the number of
turns on the relay winding and reducing the diameter of the
wire.

ABSTRACT: IIRTVII type relays used in oil switch drives manufactured by
the Leningradskiy zavod "Elektroapparat" (Leningrad "Elektro-
apparat" Plant) are mainly used for the protection of 3 to
10 kv electric installations. The transformers of the "TPF--
611, 'ITPF-1011 and other types feeding the "RTV" type relays
in general have a low power. Therefore, the problem of
lowering the breaking capacity of the built-in relays ha3
become acute. Tests carried out with the "RTV" type relays
of 1957 production used in "PRBA" type drives have proved
that a complete slitting of the slug permits a lowering of
the breaking capacity by 15 to 18 ~- and brings the inten-
sity of the breaking current into line with that of the
pickup current. The editor of this periodical adds the fol-
lowing remarks: current transformers of the "TPF-6" and

tile requirements of the protection; tile slug slitting of

infectious anemia was present, and of two horses
purposeUy infected, was examined, the findings
were basically the same as in examinations of
healthy contrnl horses. Antiglobulin rabbit
serum was used In diluted form in the relationship

Abstract : The method of chromatography on paper was applied to
the detection and the semiquantitative determination of
Co. The solvent (C2H5 OH - HCI, 9 : 1) is poured in a
test tube (the height of the solvent layer - 1 cm),
one end of a narrow paper strip is put into the liquid
and the test tube is closed. Clear spotes are obtained
using a paper strip of a special shape, the bottom end
of which is wider (8mm) for a better suction of the so-
