ABSTRAM A brief summary is presented of the theoretical requirements for the 616c
drive of drawing winchezo used in cold-rolling band mil3a# An indirect analogous
method for emf regulation, the theoretical assumptions for direct estimation -
of roll diameter from the measured travel of the band) and a new digital
~diametcr-measuring method vitb-magnetic field control in the motor are de-
.scribed. A circuit diagram, the results of practical oscillographic measure-
ments and photographs of the digital controller built of Transimat units are
presented. In conclusion a detailed discussion is given of the Indirect
analogous method for roll-diameter indication and of the digital Methods

TEYT: The blinking heliotrope consists of three cylindrical wave-like mir-
rors raviteiiert to a common axis rotating, under action of wind, at a speed of I re-
volution per 'i or 1; see. A longer period of rotation is neqessary In'case of large
distances between the poInte and at a haze. Theteliotrope Is attached to the signal
sighting cylinder. Guidance curven of all three mirrors are parts of one analytical
curve of the mirror whose positive branch satisfies the equation3:

the mirror will not yield a blink, as a consequence of which eircumstance,,the
t-range from +5 0 to -50 is also excluded from the design, Both of these sectors,
amounting to 3.6% of the whole horizon are displaced with the Sun; thus the rela-

seen at distances from 20 to 40 km. There are 6 references. See also RZhAstr, 1961,

TEXT: The author, proves that weights, in processing cycling networks,
should be presented as functions of the number of stands rather than of the line
length. The formula is derived: mt - 0.165 fF, expressing the dependence of
the root-mean-square error of elevation obtained from reciproca'L leveling, on
the number of stations only. This formula was chocked on extensive expeiimental
material. The variable n in this formula is some kind of indicator of refraction
effect and displacement of pins and stand while working at a station. It is
noted that refraction effect was not revealed in experimental materials, but
displacements of pins and stand affected the results. in traverses with large
