Abstract: [Authors' English summary modified] It was found by the authors
that passage through the small intestine is considerably accelerated by
Diotilan and Prostichol. without any disturbance in the morphology or
physiological function of the mucous membrane or the intestinal wall. There
were no pathological spasms or increased secretion . The small
intestine becoinesfilled after 30-60 minutes and the colon after 2 hours.
By using this method, the examination of the entire intes*tinal tract can

mental measurement of the permanganate reaction of corebrospinal fluid is
described. The protein is removed from the cerebrospinal fluid to be tested*
the amount of Kmn04 used in Ferencz's modification is increased and the
course of the reaction is characterized by the directional tangent of the
reaction curve plotted from the extinction values obtained with a photometer.

tary epidermolysis bullosa, the difficulties in classification and the
present uncertainties concerning the nomenclature of the disease are pointed
out. The two cases could not be classified lrLto any of the groups set up
by the current mode of classification. The mother of one of the patients
had exanthematous typhus during the first trimester of her pregnancy; there-

Abstract: The principal meaning of lineal raising consists in
a wide propagation of the progeny of the most valu-
able sires the productivity of which is higher than
the average. Although it insures the progress of
the breed for the time beingp too small a number of
lines (2-3) prevents subsequent progress because it

renders the hereditability of the breed poorer.
At the same time, the work with numberous lines
narrows the possibility of the wider use of pro-
minent sires. In the selection of parents of
the line and its eontinuators, the main point
consists in their valuation according to the
quality of progeny. It is recommended to carry
out the valuation by such methods as comparison
of the offspring vith the quality of the mothers,
comparison of the coevals, born of different
fathers, as well as comparison according to an
average productivity of the breed. On the basis
of the data provided by the Orel trotter breed,
in whcih since 150 years a method of 3-ineal
raising has been applied, the evolution of the

line Varmik-Barchuk with concrete examples of
valuation according to the progwW of the principal
continuers of the line is demonstrated. The
indispensability of the ramification of the exist-
ing lines is emphasized and the possibility of the
combination of the method of lineal crossing and
the method of their consolidation is being dis-
cussed. The selection of the new sires for their
subsequent valuation according to progeny, becomes
a decisive link of lineal breeding.
