Inv stigated the thermachemioal relationships In
the mutual ternary system composed of the salts
U 2C1 2 4 COS04 + COC12 4 Li2SO4. Found that this
system consists of 2 ternary systems: CoCl2-Li2'04-
2T3T24
Li?_CI2 with a triple eutectic point at 4520and
Coci 2 - Li2SO4 - CoSO4 with a triple eutectic
point at 5070.

Abstract: The liquidus graphs of %the irreversible reciprocal system
Li, Pb // Cl, S04 and of the diagonal sections of the
systems Li, Cd // Cl, S04; Li, Ag // Cl, S04, Li, Ca, Cl
// C:L, S04 and Li, Sr // C1, S04 were studied by the
visual-polythermal method. Bising on the obtained data,
as well as on data found in the bibliography, the con-
clusion was arrived at that the stratification in the
melted state takes place mainly in systems containing
cations with an 8-clectron or 2-electron exterior layer,,

Title i Stratification in fusions of mutual systems with participation of salts
of first and second groups
Periodical I Dak. All SSSR 103/20 261463, Jul 3.1, 1955
Abstract s, Experiments conducted with Nap Cep1i and other metal systems showed that
one of the conditions leading to stratification during the fusion of theve
elements is the greater difference in the polarizability of the cations and
anions of the components. The most vivid difference in the polarizability
was established among ions with 8 or 2 e:,ternal electron layers and ions vith
external electron structure consisting of 18 or 18 plus 2 electrons. The
effect of fluorides on the prevention of stratification in liquid phases Is
explained. Nino USSR referencea (1929-1946). Graphs,

Periodical, : Stan. i instr., 9, 35-36, s 1956
Abstract : A brief description of the thermo-chemical, electrolytic process
of sulfidation of the 45-steel and gray caBt-iron is presented.
It was developed in the Rostov University laboratories, and
reportedly increases the corrosion resistance of treated metals.

Abstract :The liquidus surface of the ternary mutual system Ag, Li/I
W04, Cl was studied by the visual-polythermal method. The
eutectic points of the binary systems M2W04 - AgpWO and
AEL-W04 - AgpC12 are at (in equ.%) 55% of Ag2W04 and ~600
Zig at 70.0% of Ag2C12 and 3900 respectively. The crystal-
lization surface of the mutual system Is represented by
crystallization fields of AgCl, Ag2W04, IA2WO4 and solid
solutions (Li, Ag) Cl. The ternary eutectic points answer
3750. There is a great region of stratification situated
above the LiifIO4 field and occupying 63.51% of the area of the
square of composition. The diagonal sections A92Mo04 - L12WO4
with the transition point at 4500 and 37.5% of L12'404, and L12

M004 - A92W04 with the transition point at 460P and 67.5% of
Ag2W04 were also studied. There is no stratification in both
these cases.
