Mg0-SiO2 catalyst in the synthesis of butadiene from ethyl alcohol

Abstract: With the Polish catalyst (PC) containing 70.1% MgO and 29.9% Si02
specific active surface 1.0, complete decolorization of I is at-
tained after 13 minutes, with a foreign catalyst (FC) containing
60.0$ MgO and 40.o% S102 specific active surface followi-ng activa-
tion 1.0, complete decolorization of I was attained after 15
minutes. After activation at 4800, time of decolorization of 1
with PC and FC rose to 28 mi-nutes, on heating PC and FC at 700P
for 6 hours, time of decolorization of I with PC rose to 77 minutes,
with FC to 57 minutes. Roentgenograms of PC and FC are similar to
each other. FC has about the same activity as the PC but is less
sensitive to overheating. It is proposed to utilize the method of
determining the time of complete decolorization of 1 as a rapid
method of control of the activity of the catalyst during its prepa-
rationY activation, operation and regeneration.

The author describes a partly graphical and partly
analytical method of analysis of nagnetic modulators of the frequen-~
cy doubling type in their ideal state. Equations for equivalent
a
characteristics have been obtained by pproximating the core magnct-'
ization characteristic by three-straight segments. The results ob-
tained have been used to detcrmine the characteristics of unloaded
modulators for ninuaoidal input currents and for output signals of
double frequency. The case of sinusoidal magnetic induction of the
excitation field is also anal zed 13 references.

dustry is cnpable of development on the basis of successful solu-
tion to the problems of the miiiing of anthracite, ligmite, rocksalt,
sulphur and limestone.
