The behavior of the Dolari- zation vector in elastic scattering of vector particles with -.1c,-.-vanishin.- rest mass is studied for vectorial, pseudovectorial, tensorial and pseudo- scalar interaction. The formulas derived are used to investigate (a) elastic scattering of longitudinally polarized particles with their spin parallel or antiparallel to the momentum, (b) Coulomb scattering of trans- vorsally polarizaa pLrticlos, voctorial intoraction, (c) dv for scattorinc of iarticles of both types of p6larization in the base of combined inter- action~. For the latter case a! low energies Coulomb interaction plays.the main role in scattering; at higher energies tensorial forces arising in t'he interaction between charge and magnetic field predominate, Card 1/2 S105616210431001102010:)6 Theory of vector particles ... 3102/B108 ASSOCIATION: !,'oskovskiy gosudarstvennyy universitet (-.,;oscov,- State Uni- versity) SUE,6'ITTED; January 3, 1962 Car& 2/T BULGARIA/Chemical Techrology - Processing of Solid Fossil Fuels* H-22 Abs Jour : Ref Zhur - Khimiya, No 24, 1958.. 82923 Author : Wrev, D.,.Loa itova, A. Abstract : Since the varieties of coal from the Mariza-vostok nine have a hida ash content (22-45% ash per dry matter) and when briquetted, produce vater unstable briquettes, inves- tioations were undertaken concerning their preliminary en- richment, ConsiderinG the fact that clay is a mjor com- ponent of the mineral portion of those coals, the method of enrichment consisted in a drying, crushing and treating then with water. AN SSSR, 1957, Nr 4-5, pp 154-165 ABSTRACT: Investigations were performed in order to determine hcw the strength of coal is affected (during grinding operations) by in- organic additives consisting either of flux materials, reducible ores, or both. It is established that the mechanical strength of coal is a function of its natural properties and of the amount of moisture present in it, a5 well as of the nature and surface -area of the additives. Most effective "strength reducers" are the finely dispersed CaO, Fe oxide, and limestone. Maximum strength reduction of coal containing 4-5 percent moisture is achieved by employing approximately 5 percent of additives. 1. Coal--Mechanical properties 2. Coal--Processing A. Sh. 3. When studying the aging of plastics, one can make use of the possibility of qualitative analysis of materials with the aid of infra-red spectroscopy, since the occurrence of new groups in polymers causes the appearance of new bands in the absorption spectra. The intens'ity of thesei 2 bands is a measure of the concentration of the absorbing components. Methods of processing the speotrograms are described. II. With the aid of the infra-red spectrometer TP-10 (19R-10) an invest- igation is made of the aging process of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and chlorinated polyethylene of various commerical types. The specimens in the form of films 30-50 g thick were irradiated with an elf3atric arc (diameterl, of carbon electrodes, 12 mm). In the first 10 hra of irradiation the PVC Card 1/2 S/08IJ62/00o/oo6/097/117 Use of infra-red spectroscopy B162/B101 films darken; subsequently, the color change is less substantial. At the same time, new absorption bands appear in the spectrum in the region of 1740 and 967 CM-1$ which is connected with the appearance of C-0 and -CH-CH- bonds. OH groups were not observed even after 100 hrs' light aging. In the chlorinated polyethylene C-0 bonds are formed; no essential change in the band intensity of the -CH-CH- bond is found. On the basis of the test results it is suggested that the C-0 bond forms during oxida- tion of the polymers by the development of hydroperoxide groups turning into keto groups., The color change of PVC is attributed to the formation of conjugate double bonds.
