been done by L. D. Landau, Ye. M. Lifshits, and ~sthers. Here, the case of
quadrupole radiation is investigated in a classical maxiner. The e~m values
of the colliding nuclei a,re supposed to be similar but not equal, and
allowance is made for di.pale radiation and the intexferonce b~:tween dipole
and quadrupole radiations. In this case, magnetic dipole rad:~ation i:3
never observed. Tre particles a:re assumed to have a non-relativistic
velocity. Expressions are derived for the differential bremsstrahlung
cross sP:~ion for charged particle collisions in the case of predominating
quadrupole radiation. The formulas obtained for angular and energy
dietributiors and the radiation polarization, vrhich make allowance for
quadrupole and dipole radiations and their interference, are used to
study the limiting cases of high and very low frequencies. It has 'been
shown that classical approximation yields useful results for low radiation
