SOV/34?-24-11-E3/3 j The hetercnination of Tantalum by Differential Spec;trophotomc~t;ry solution did not give Hickey and 3c+ung (Yangj i~`j j~ w:: in- crease in the accuracy of measuretne~nt. Since ~~rs.cticall,' no data exist in the Soviet publications on differential s~ectro- photometry stable on the application of this method :is ~~.ven. Tantalum ws,s determined in the ultra-violet x~e~ian ay .r+~- acting it w.fth pyrogallol i,n an oxalate-acid ~rticadium. t~. q ;N HCl solution w~.th Q00 mg pyrogallol, 1?0 mg flmmc~n;i.l..irn oxr,,l.rt uc;, ~:cnci 30-jp mg potasNi~rm pyrosulfata per 10 ml of sclution, ~zddcd, was used for this purpose. A series, of solut~.cna containing 0.5 to 1.2 mg Ta205 were prepared; one of these solt:ti ons was the zero solution (C1) and a second solution of righor concentration (C2) was measured in relation to the fir;:;t. The interval 0.7 to 0.9 mg Ta~OS was found to be optimal far C1 In the presence of niobiun, at a concentration of Nb2O5:Ta2O5= 3:1, the xelative error in the tantalum determination eras ~,bout 0.5f, and with a ratio of 6:1 about 1~. The optical. properties of the titanium and tantalum pyrogallol complex Card ,?~3 compounds are ad+iitive, so that with a ratio of TiOZ:T~.2O5= APPROVED FOR RELEASE. 06/23/11 CIA-RDP86-005138001032000032-6 AUT&~RS: Dobl4ina, B. ~d., I~alyuti na, T.
