Alloys contnininR 33 at.% Ti, 16.7-61.7 at.% Cu, and 5-50 nt.% Al were melted from iodide titnnium, 99.996Z pure copper, and aluminum in a helium atmosphere in an electric nrc furnace and An nealed at 800C for 350 hours. Among the obtained alloys, x-ray structural and microutructural analyses identified one as an almost homogeneous TiCuAl alloy and several inhomogeneous alloys. Except for a small amount of a TiCu2Al compoundo the TiCuAl alloy consisted of n compound of an approxinately TiDuAl composition and a henagonal C-1-1 ACCESSION 111~: AP4042825 structure of the M Zn2 tYPe, wt th the I a L t i c cc on at a n ts 5.026 + 0.004 1, c - 8.084 + O~004 A, c,a - 1.608, and titanium atoms in positions with a coordTnation number of 16. The authors sought to cbmplete the (lata by i. ivest igati ncr alloys of RIn in wldch, 3 R = Y, Eu, Gd, 7b, Dy, Ho, Er, Tu, YL), and Lu. The samples were prepared in an electrical furnace in an at'mospherc of pure lieliwi. X-ray studies show that all samples (except the one with Zu) givo, in addition to indiwn lines, lines of cubic structure. The alloys thus consist of binary compounds in equilibrium with the In. The ratio of In to the binary coN4)ounds is about 3 : 1 in the alloys. The struc- tural type is apparently that of AuCu3 (space group Pm3m - Oh)' The lattice constants in this series of RIn3 decrease systematically in going from La to Lu. The concrete used for con- struction of the dam was prepared from cement prolu- ced by the Vorkuta plant, coarse aggregate and !heated sand, and transported by a "'Pionir" crr-ne and self-propelled dump trucks. To make the temper-.ture suitable for concrete hardening, placed concrete wpts electrically hente 8 and when the open-Fiir tempernture was lower than -35 (' it was also covered by a 10-cm sawdust layer. The dam was sectionqlize~ in 'P blocks Card 112 whose expansion loints were later sepled by asp~~R`11- Construction of a Wpir on the Gagara-Ty-Vis 'diver in t-P I~rea prepared from bitumen and cement.
