Its Development in the Zeravshan Basin (Sovremennoye
sostoyaniye i perspektivy razvitiya skotovodstva v
Zeravshanskom basseyne)

ABSTRACT: Up to now, animal raising in Uzbekistan has not had a
un*form development. Horses and sheep have been the
main concern, while cattle were of a secondary im-
portance. The latter were slow to mature and brought
in a meager profit. The average live weight of a cow
was 180 kg to 200 kg, and one cow gave 500 kg to 600 kg
of milk per year (including 250 kg of milk for the calf
when the later was reared at the udder). The majority

of cattle on the collective farms in the Zeravshan basin are of the
local mixed breed; only two or three percent are thoroughbreds.
.Cows constitute only 20 - 25 percent of the herds,belonging
to.Zergmshad collective farms. In 1954, 0-5-centners ; -
of milk were obtained from each .100,heatares of-agricultural area. In
the agricultural year 1953-54, one cow supplied 319 kg of milk in
Samarkand Oblast I
261 kg in Bukharskaya Oblast, and 313 kg in
Kashha Darynskaya Oblast#; in 1954-55 the amounts rose to 511, 461,
and 419 kg respectively. The author recommends better fodder and
improved breeds in order to increase productivity.

Abstract : It was determined that protein digestion in patients with
gastric carcinoma was diminished to the level of digestion
found in healthy fasting subjects. This is a proof of the
presence of pepsinogen in the gastric juice of p?.tients
with carcinoma of the stomach, However, the de&~,ee of di-
gestive power, in these patients is not increased postpran-
dially. This may probably be explained by the absence of
excitability in the cancerous stomach.

ABSTRACT: This Author's Certificate introduces a computer for minimizing the struc-
ture of logic circuits. The installation contains relay circuits, a neon lamp dis-
play panel and toggle switches for data input. The unit is designed for analyzing and
synthesizing relay devices on the basis of generalized codes and a convolution
operator. The computer contains relay units for setting up generalized codes. These
relay units are connected to code display devices and to a digital composition panel
through a logic circuit. The logic circuit is connected to the analysis-synthesis
selector switch as well as to the witches for input of the working ntmbers and those
for input of the forbidden numbers.
