ABSTR:XT: In the present paper the system of the solid (Ba,3r)(Ti,Sn)O

of tgE in low fields are in accordance with the specifica-
tions in reference 3. On the basis of the data for temperature
ranges of the phase transitions, dependences upon the SrTiO3
percentage content were recorded (Fig 3). The temperature
dependence of the FE at differing E are recorded for sample
5 - 12 in figure 4. These dependences are similar in the
other solidIsolutions. The magnitude of the electric field,
at which F reaches the maximum value, varieB with different
phase transitions. From figure 5 can be seen that there is a
certain value of the alternating field, at which the maximum
variation of P_ takes place. On the basis of the investigations
carried out the coefficient of the electric non-linearity
can be calculated basing on the largest angle of gradient.
Calculations and tests show that the non-linear properties
of the investigated solid solutions do not differ much from

ABSTR.LCT: In the present paper it is shown by the author, that the
investigated solid solutions in the system (Ba, Sr)
(Ti, Sn)O 3 form a continuous series of solid solutions
of first kind. The temperature dependence of t and tg6
of the solid solutions with a cortent of SrTiO 3 up to
3o% at a constant content of BaSnO 3 (5%) was investi-
gated in weak electric fields (Figures 2 and 3). The
temperature dependence ofE was also investigated in
Card 113 strong electric fields. The diagram of the function

for the samples no- 5 - 12. This function is analogous

ted at room temperature. Solid solutions containing up to
25% of SrTiO 3 served as investigation samples (Figures 6
and 7)- If the different compositions of the investigated
solid solutions are combined, it is possible to obtain
an equalized temperature dependence of capacity. Figure
8 shows the diagrams representing the functions:

consisting of four solid solutions: 1 - 5-06, 5-12, 5-14,
5-14; 2 - 5-08Y 5-10, 5-12, 5-14. From this it can be seen
that the modification of the canacity does not exceed irom
2o-, 22@. in the temperature interval of from 30-L-+300C.

Solutions in the System (3a, Sr) (Ti, Sn)O 3 in
Weak and in Strong Electric Fields
(Ti, Sn)O3 possea@ a strong dependence of F_ - jC(t) in weak
fields. The modification of the dielectric permeability
takes place in the Curie temperature range in the narrow
interval around _ 300C. The investigated solid solutions
exhibit a strongly marked dependence of permeability on
constant and alternating electric fields. The electric
nonlinearity of the investigated solid solutions is suf-
ficiently great, and it can, apart from the non-criti-
cality, be of great practical interest for the composi-
tion in wide concentration ranges in the application of
the investigated system as nonlinear elements. The au-

A description is given of 5 cases. The findings consisted of severe pain in the
right upper quadrant of the abdomen, leucocytosts, fever. meteorism. slight as-
cites. collapse. decrease in the volume of the liver, splenomegaly. and abnormal
liver-function tests. and were suggestive of a perforation in the abdominal region.
For this reason. two patients were subjected to laparotomy. but no perforation
could be found. Of these two patients, one died. Post-mortem findings: macrono-
dular hepatic dystrophy with acutely dystrophic foci. mid serous peritonitis). In
the other patients. the acute abdomen regressed under the influence of conserva-
tive treatment with liver -protective therapy, broad-spectrum antibiotics and

ABSTRACT: The experience made by the researchmen who took part in the work-
ing out of one or the other method of proLTnosis is very important
in the practical use of these methods. A cooperation of the
scientists and the assistants working in the field is especially
important in the case of an instable hydrological rejime, above
all in the northwest of the USSR. The unsettled character of the
weather conditions is to be noticed to considerably -rest extent
in spring and autumn. The ice phenomena of single water objects
do not develop simultaneously. In consequence of this the fore-
casts for the freezing up for the region of Leningrad and the
neighboring regions have been inadequate in the course of the last
ten years. Therefore it was decided to combine the efforts of the
scientists of the State Hydrological Institute (Gosudarstvennyy
Card 1/2 gidrologicheskiy institut - GGI) and of the hye-rologists of the

leniye gidro-meteorologicheskiy sluzhby - Administration of
the Hydrometeorological Service) as well as of the Petrozavodsl@
Hydrometeorolo.,,ical Observatory (aidrometeorologicheaka.va ob-
servatoriya). A plan for the combined work was made. "GI worked
out the method of the background-forecast (fonovyy pro,,;noz) of
the occurrence of ice and a local method of forecast for the
freezing up. V.A.Stepanova developed successfull7 the method of
the forecasting of the freezing up of Lake OneCa (Onezhskoye ozero),
of the river Vytegra (VyteL-ra), and of the channels. While the
forecasts with respect to the neasons were worked out communica-
tions of the cooperating scientists and hydroloCists were read
as well as the assumptions made by the synoptists. Thus the first
were able to come to learn the weak points of Vae !iothod and to
take steps in order to improve them. Examples are given. The ara-
lysis of the forecasts which were not correct is to be carried
out. The cooperation is continued and proved to be quite a success,
