TESTS The following works whose object is to find what complexes are
formed ~' UO2(N03)2 with tributylphosphate (BP) and to determine their
dipole moments is a~n extension of the work of Y. B. ShErvchenko and his
co-workers who wiled t~o report on th�ir methods of in~restigation. A
saturated solution of UO2(NO3)2 in TBP was carefully prE-pared (free from
H2O and pQJO3). The mole fraction (x) o! U02(N03)2 in this solution was de-
termined spectrophotomet~rically by ~adys~aw Rutkowski pit Praoo~rni Chemii
Analitycsme;~ I&T~ Utarza~~a (Laboratory of Analytioal Checoistry IBJ~ YJarsaw).
Portions of this solution ~rere dissoly�d in varying amounts of pure benzene
