by the relationships amoii~ iizdividuals, but precisely by

survival. In the period of the formation of larvae 'in-
vasion' stages, precisely the variability of the latter
(alanR with other properties) is the basis for matt~ral
selection, at the time of larvae contact with their
hosts. The relations between thc: host and the narasit~
is characterized by mutual adaptation, which forms i~l the
process of eve?_~~tion a devinite stru~;~le for survival;
furthermore, o~~ the action of selectio.l depends the pa-
cvl.far biolo~.cay systcr~~s of "parasite- host" with their
characteristic specificity. In the or~n:ism of the host,
the whale population reacts as a peculiar biolo~i.cal unit;

During the last 2 yr. , 20 cases of so-cal ed/pneumocyst9s pneumonia in remat ~^
children have been examined. The macroscopical picture is well-known.pfIis u�.e
~ gical exami~aation showed in the alveoli, besides desquamated alveolar a tolo
a large amount of Pneumocystis carinii, with as a result hyperaemia of thehca il~~
laries and oedematous imbibition ('inflammatory reaction') in the interalveolar
f septa, besidles new-formation of immature cells of the m eloid and 1~ ~
S aeries ('hae,mopoietic reaction'). Histiocytic ce118 were also found, butptypical
plasma ce11E~ were not observed.

soaking pits the matt�r wa;- found to be entirely different. Stream of hat gas faow-
ing from opposite burners c:lashes in the centre of the combustion chamber above the
ingot heads and finds the escape route through the centre of the soaking pit between
all ingots and out to the exit pipes, Because of this, all ingots are evenly heated
the refractory lining does not suffer excess overheating and the increased efficien-
cy already mentioned takes place. Simple and cheap modification of the heating sys-
tem allows for a consideral~le saving in gas consumption and for increase of plant /
