Use of trichlorometaphos as a larvicide reduced the sensitivity of flies to this insecticide to a sm~ extent in }~tishchi, .}~nsk, and Brest, but not to a degree which could be regarded as an increase in tolerance (de- ifined as a decrease of sensitivity by a factor of 2-~). The sensitivity of flies to %richlorophos was unaffected after use of this insecticide in Tash- .kent. Flies at Minsk and Bresb which had developed a tolerance to chlorophoe also showed sn increas~i resistance to DDT and hexachlorocyclohexane (%his iincrease in resistance' also developed to a minor extent at }~tishchi). How-* lever, the increase in the resistance to hexachlorocy~ohexane.~as presumably not related to the use of .r~.ano~hoS~horus comoounds, but due %o %he appli- cation of polychloropinene in the~e local!ties. Existence of a relation between increased resi=tance to DDT ~ tolerance to chlorophos was more likely. Southern flies in Tashkent, ~hich retrained sensitivity to chlorophos to .t.he full extent, did not exhibi~ an increase in the resi. s~anc, e to.~DDT.._._Af~.er a .
