ABSTRACT: General data are presented on the employment of com-
mercial-frequency current for through heating of steel and non-
ferrous metals prior to ductile processi .rig, in the smelting of
metals, in the chemical industry, and for the drying of paints
and lacquers. The use of steel magnetic circuits is shown to
be effective. 3 methods of connecting inductors to 3-phase
power-supply circuits are ffhown, as is the design of inductorr
with axial traveling magnetic fieldb. The main equations for
analysis of inductors with ripple or travc1ing magnetic fields
are presented and it -in shown that they a:re applicable to the
analysis of 3-phase solenoidal inductors. Bibliography-, 14

ABSTRACT: Advantages of high-frequency heating in thermal treatment. metal
melting. dielectric drying. etc. , are briefly listed. The outfits are classified
according to application, and ffimplified circuit diagrams of rectifying and
generating parts of some outfits are presented. Outside dimensions and
appearance of all outfits are supplied. Fundamental characteristics of all out-
fits built by the Leningrad factory are tabulated: type. application, frequency,
power. anode -transformer data, also data of rectifiers and tube oscillators.

High-Frequency Outfits With Tube OscilLators
The oxciUators for hfgh-frequency drying are equipped with anti-noise devices.
New developments aim at modernization, higher capacities (0. 5 kw and up to
500 kw), and wider fields of application. To improve noise suppression in
existing outfits, the frequencies used will be lowered. New types of tubes with
a lower anode voltage are adopted, voltage stabilization to introduced. etc.
An experiment&t thyratron. outfit has been built for generating machine-band
frequencies with an efficiency of 9Z-9.3%. Development of high-frequency
oscillatort, for ultrasonic outfits to planned.

ABSTRACT: The method of casting into vertical forms for the
production of dolid reinforced concrete panels foimine
walls and floors is Afar more advantageous than other
production methods. The main advantages are the con-
siderable sating in the floor area of the workshop, of

the manufacturing proceoses is given. Figure 1 il-
lustrate3 the use of the vertical form by the MngnitoGorak
factory. The forms are of steel and the consolidation
is performe(I by vibration. The vertical method of clnb

panels, can be cast at the same time. Figure 4 il-
lustrates the *.r-Yykva Casting rard where other types
of forms are manufactured. These consist of steel
transferrable plates designed by the Giprostrommash
of the Glavetroyproyektj Gosstroy USSR. Vertical
forms of the Giprostrommash are designed to cast be-
tween five and nine panels at the same time. The steel
sheets are 24= thick and are connected to vibrators.
Figure 5 illustrates the form manufactured by the
Vykna . factory. Experience has shown that the speed
of casting slabs when using vertical forms depends on
the method of delivery of the concrete mix. T -4
