Title : Concerning Scientific Forest Management
Terminology
Orig Pub: Lesn. kh-vo, 1958, No 22 13-16a
,',bstracti An examination is made of the terminological
shortcomings of the "Forest Managfiment Dict.'-
onary-HandbooWl published by YENITOLES, 190-
1950. Examples are presented of inconsistenices
and inaccuracies in forest management termino-
logy from a series of contemporary litErature
sources. The extreme necessity for preparing
n f3cientificnlly trentod terminology and the
publication of an encyclopedia of forest
management is stressed. -- L. V. Nesmalov.

as follows:

Maziu formula in general describes quite well the mean dep*ndence of the liqMid
water content in stratiform clouds an temperature at the laver boundary. However,
the coefficient b differs from the theoretical value and increases with height;
this apparently can be attributed to the gravitational settling of particles and
the mixin- of air with drier layers, which Mazin, did not take into account. The
appreciable difference between. the experimental A(z) curves and the theoretical
curves in the thin layer (z -c 100-150 m) above the lower cloud boundary can be
elizdaated easily by aamming that the lower boundary of Vioible clouds exceeds
the condensation level by several tens of meters. These conclusions are supported
by the Zaclosures. Orig. art. has: 2 figures, 5 formulas and 3 tables*

ABSTRACT: The following conclusions are adduced: The strength cri-
terion in the calculation of the lateral frame of a truck must be
the endurance of the frame. It has been established, by means
of an investigation with a loa ing characterized by a loading
asymmetry r =0.29 and a 10~cycle test basis, that the nomi-
nal endurance limit uo,29 = 2145 kg/crn?-. It is established
that the design of a lateral frame i.s not one of uniform
strength. The highest stress obtains at the inner corner of the
tow assembly.
