ary bladdur (UE1) and ureters (U) in man, dog,

An epidemic of acute tonsillitis. in which Streptococcus haemolyticus was the
causative organism. occurred in a home for young girls. and the occasion was
used to examine the patients in the post-anginous period. In ail cases, a marked
change of the general condition was found, It is concluded that after acute ton-
sillitis the patients should keep absol.ute rest for longer periods than are usually
prescribed and that they should be kept under regular medical control for I to
3 months. during which time specific prophylactic treatment with antibiotics
and sodium salicylate should be given to prevent cardiac and articular affections.

A study is made of the morphological features rif the vessels in g1loblastoma multi-
forme. All necrotic foci. with their various appt-rances. represent one or other of
the different stages of Ischaemie necrosis causeti by vascular thrombosis. The
course of these lesions comprises 3 stages: coaM lation necrosis. reactive stage
(proliferation of the endothelial cells), stage of lit uefaction. A comparison with
encephalomalacia demonstrates the similarity between the stages of the tumoral
