Abstract The tendency for paper (P) to powder is determined in a
~.evice by weighing the powder rubbed off the surface cf
the P under standardized conditions. The results of mea-
suring the powdering of a nwaber of printing pap,2rs.
The dependenco of the powdering upon the pressure of the
knife on the P, the filler content, and the finish of the
P surface are established. SpecificatiGtis as regards
powdering for Lho raost important printing papers are prr--
sented.
