ABSTRACT: A thorough study of the uncultivated plants in the !!SSR is

technical utilization. Among them, the Azerbaydzhan wild
hemp deserves special attention. Between '930 an] 1937, mr-
noecious forms of tne wild hemp were studied by 7. Mariskin
and V.I. De3hevnya, who carried out successful ci,css ferti-
lization of the domestic monoecious wild hemp with the monoe-
cious Indian wild hemp, and by K.V. Malyushko and Academician
N.N. Grishko, who established the types of the sex polymor-
phism of the hemp. in 1943 the Institut lubyarlykh ku Itur
(Institute of Bast Cultures) attempted to discover r,,w ty~e3
of monoecious hemp. Central-Russian and South-Russian typps
that ripen at the same time were used. 'Ailertion was ulcne
by A.I. Arinshteyn, E.3, Gurzhly and V.A. Nevinnykh. Their
method was also successfully applied by the In.stitut rasteni-
