Radiotekhnika, v. 8, no. 6, 1965, 696-703 TOPIC TAGS: AFC, signal frequency. frequency locking ABSTRACT: The operation of a phase-lock AFC system an a narrow-band tracking filter is theoretically analyzed; an active proportional-integrating filter is used as a low--wpass filter, (after the phase detector) in this AFC system. The time of frequency search in limited; hence, the search is Assumed to be fast. With a high search speed, the signal locking may fail to materialize due to the low-pass filter inertia. The probability of signal locking by the above AFC system, under no-noise conditions, is determined; this permits determining maidmurn frequency-search speed (a formula is developed) which still ensures locking. under noise conditions. this speed will a-priori be lower. It is proven that with higher search speeds, the lCard UDC: 621.396.668 L 13353-66 ACC MRs AP6001938 probability of locking falls off rather slowly; beyand a certain point, however, the probability drops abruptly, the latter effect being more pronounced for higher attenuations. It iff also found that setting the attenuation t > I cannot result in aL substantial increase of the locking probability under no-noise conditions. AN SSSR, 1957, Vol 28, Nr 9, pp 650- 683 ABSTRACT: The exis".rig methoi of mrnitoring garrima-adiation doses by biackenir.g of a p~L-toillm Kas disadvantages due to the following factors: (1) measuremert regii't-3 depend on the rad-;ation energy*, (Z) sensitivity is low; (3) measurement of the degree of blacken,.ng by a dersitcmeter is subjective. Steps to overcome the above disadvantages are considered. The photofilm is most sensitive to soft gamma rad.ilaticn. To compensate for this, filters are used that co-rnpr;ee a layer of lead arA a layer of aluminum. Lead ensures Card 1/2 SOV/1 12-59-3-5344 Improved Method for Personal 13,hotomonitoring of Gamma Hazard (IFK-11) greater absorption,of soft gamma radiation, while aluminum protects the emulsion against the secondary electrons knocked out of lead by gamma quanta. To increase the sensitivity, the compensating filters are used in combination with intensifying screens prepared from calcium tungstate. The optimum thickness of a lead filter with an intensifying screen is 1. 5-1.6 mm; without the screen, 0.75-0. 8 mm. The thickness of the aluminum layer is 0. 5 mm. A c ompensation -type photometric scheme with selenium phototubes has been used for objective evaluation of blackening. L. V. M. TITLE: Efficient Methods in Spline-Shaft Machining (Proizvoditellnyye metody obrabotki shlitBevykh valov) PERIODICAL: Stanki I Instnunent, 1957, No. 1, pp 21-23. ABSTRACT: In the procedure reconimended two spline grooves are simultaneously roughed out in each of the two shafts mounted side by side by means of form cutters. Carbide-tipped face cutters are used to finish the spline flanks. Their interspace is adjusted against Belleville springs. Five roughing methods are com- pared under different conditions, each followed by a finishing operation. The machining time and total piece-work time is given in each case. The highest Card 112 09 TITLE: fficient Methods in Spline-Shaft Machining 5roizvoditelInyye metody obrabotki shlitsevykh valov) labor cost Is associated with hobbing in either one or two cuts. The proposed method cuts machining time by 2 to 15 times. The use of carbide-tipped finishing cutters increasps accuracy without requiring precision form cutters. TITLE: The Coefficient * for Calculation of Hardness of Reinforced Concrete Elements. (0 koeffitsiyente dlya rascheta zhestkosti zhelezobetonnykh elementr,v). PERIODICAL: Beton i Zhelezobeton, 1958 Nr 2, pp '06-69. ABSTRACT: CalcijlRtion of the strength of the ab-)ve-mentioned problem uses coefficient'V according to the theory of Professor V.I. Murashev? accepted by the standnrds (NiTU 123-55). This coefficient is the function of the concrete in the tension zone in between cracks, i.e. changes of tensions in the reinforcement of the concrete with load variation. A theoretical ex- planation of the function of this coefficient and its application is given in detail. Figure 1 illustrates a curve of distribution of tensions and moments in inforcement and concrete of the tensioned zone of the reinforced concrete unit in between cracks.
