Orig Pub PostePY fiz., 1957, 8, No 6, 673-69o
Abstract Survey article. The physical principles of cold-emission
microscopy and the construction of cold-emission eloctron
microscopes are considered. The inveatigation of meto.111c
cryst,,~Is) detemination of the wave function by cold-emissien
clectron microscope, the influence of adsorption on the image
of a crystalline point (cathode of the microscope) are all
d-scribcd. Uso considered is the possibility .f observing
molecules and atoms in a cold-emission electron microscopo.

ABSTRACT: Well-shaped tungsten monocrystals were obtained by
electrically glowing to about 2500C a commercial tungsten wire of
0.1-0.5 mm diam in a hydrogen atmosphere saturated with water
vapor. Most crystals grew in the central region of the wire
where the temperature was highest. The edges of most crystals were
well shaped, and their faces,-irmooth. Dimensions of crystals were
from 10 to 200 U, In most cases, the crystals were situated in such
a way that either one of the corners or one of the edges was directed
to the wire surface. Well-formed crystaila were dodecahedrons; some
were nearly regular rhombododecahedrons, the others being stretched
in the direction perpendicular to the wire axis. When the water vapor

Periodicals Chem. listy, 1956, Vol 50, No 3, 386-387 (published in Czech)
Abstract: Precipitation with tamnic acid (0.3% solution in a physiological solu-
tion) is used in the determination of the gelatin concentration (I) in
various biological liquids. The degree of turbidity at an optimum pH
(4-5-5-5) is measured with a Langer photocolorimeter, using a green
filter (the measurement is made 25 minutes after the mixing of the
reagent). Calibration curves are constructed both for the solution
of I and for the product of its partial acid hydrolysis (PH) (the
viscosity of a 5% solution of hydroiyeate at 200 is 1.5-1j). For I
the reaction proceeds best when the concentration or I to 0.5-1,; mg/mij
the best concentration for PH is 0.01-0.5 mg/mi. Concentrations~of
