The excretion of Na. K. CI, N and 17-ketooteroide in the urine was examined in
16 patients with hyperthyroldism and 6 with neutral goitre. It is stated that in theme
patients there is a disturbance in the functioning of the adrenal cortex, more in-
tensified in those with thyroidism than in those with neutral goitre.

Twenty patients with gastric ulcer and 23 with duodenal ulcer were examined,
Before, 48 hr. after and 10 days after the operation the haematocrit value and the
alkaline reserves. N&, K. Ca. Mg. and chlorides were examined, as well as the
plasma protein and its fractions. In patients with duodenal ulcer, a statistically
significant rise in the Na level was ascertained 48 hr. after operation and a statist-
ically significant fall in the haernatocrit level after 10 days. In patients whether
with gastric or with duodenal ulcers. a statistically significant fall in the total
plasma protein was found 10 days after operation. Patients with duodenal ulcer
show a significant fall In the level of the albumins both 48hr. and 10 days after
operation. The fall in the protein and haematocrit levels after operation observed
in patients with gastric or duodenal ulcer is accounted for by the retention of Na
and water in the body.

Forty patients suffering from fungus Infections of the skin were treated with fura-
spor (5-rxitro-2-methyl-turfuryi ether). a new fungistatic drug produced in Poland.
Twenty-two patients (15 men and 7 women) suffered from epidermophytonts of the
sole and palm. and 13 patients from trichophytoole cutis glabrae. Treatment with
1-2% furaspor ointment was carried out on an out-patient basis. Furaspor proved
to be non-irritard. specifically -acting and antipruritte, and stimulated epithelial-
ization. Disappearance of the clinical symptoms and negativization of the micro-
scopical findings were usually observed in the course of 3-4 weeks. Further study
with this drug In other deep cutaneous infections seems advisable.

Abstract: According to the method of El-M3fti, the treatment
of patients affected with vitiligo by the extract
of the fruit of Ammi majus was carried out. Ten
patients were administered the extract per os, 0.25
gramn three times a day, with simultaneous smearing
of tho albinotic patches with a fluid extract; five
patients were treated only locally, and five patients
