TITLE: Protective role of copper coatings in carburization
PERIODICAL: Referativnyy zhurnal. Kbimiyei, no. 1, 1963, 337, abstract

TEXT: These studies deal with the diffusion of C into Fe through Cup Nit
Cr and Co costlings of 0.25 - 6 p thickness and with the diffusion of C
through Cu coatings into Fes Nis Mo, and W. The samples were oarburized
at 950-98OPC within 6 bra. It Is established that Cu coatings of - 3 P
thickness almost completely inhibit the diffusion of 0 into Fe (and into
all the other metals)l when applied with eqUELl thickness, the other
coatings inhibit the diffusion of 0 into Fe by ID-30%. It is shown that
the inhibiting effect of Cu on C diffusion into Fe is explicable by the
establishment of an electric field on the metal surfaces which prevents
.C from penetrating. [Abstracter's note: Complete translation-3

"Zhur Tekh Fiz" Vol XXII, No 2, pp 203-215
Vanishing of inert gas during 1(zr pressure gloving
discharge is considered as capture of gas by so-
lidifying metallic drops on cathode and glass bulb
Formation of these drops is produced by short-lived 1
micro-arcs on cathodic surface., resulting in local
melting of even high-melting metals. Tests of gas
absorption vere performed in tubts vith cathodes of

PIMPOSE AND COVERAGE: This book is intended for students in schools
of higher technical education and for engineers and mathematicians
concerned with the development of high speed digital computers and
their operation. Basic information necessary for the development
and use of high speed computers is presented. The first part of
the book deals with a series of networks which perform the function
of information converters in digital computers. The aftond part
discusses the problems of programming, Including information language

ABSTRACT: A circuit diagram is suggested, and principal calculation and design
are developed for a new instrument intended for continuous monitoring of the
efficiency of a steam boiler operating on gas or liquid fuel; the instrument is
also intended for computing the average value of efficiency over a given
stretch of time. The instrument can also serve as a reference input element
in an automatic combustion control system. An automatic 4-arrn bridge circuit
is used for efficiency computation. It in pointed out that a conventional
planimetry used to obtain average values is inapplicable in this case; for that
