Abstract: A review of analytic methods of salicylic acid,
Na salisylate and aspirin quantitative deter-
mination is presented. Based on performed ex-
periments, the applicability of these methods to
the determination of the above substance in pure
state and in various pharmaceutical prepara-
tions was studied in detail, and the error lim-
its of individual methods were determined. Bib-
liography with 78 titles.

TEXT. A patent was issueC, for a method of &pplying radioactive layers,
in particular strontium 90 and .-adium. A characteristic feature of this method
is that the deposition of these elements is analogous to conventional electro-
lysis, but is performed from molten salts in organic solvents at high voltages.
To obtain thicker coatings (determined by the weight of the deposited salt, and
equal to tens of mg per I mm2 of the cathode surface) and to maintai-n the cur-
rent density at the required level (not below 10 mamp per I cm2) it is suggested
to Increase the voltage gradually from 100 v to 10 kv. So, for instance, to ob-
'tain a radiation source with a strontium 90 layer, strontium sulfocyanate is
selected,, and aceton is taken as a solvent. As v, result, a layer of strontium 90

carbonate is deposited on the cathode. The radiation activity of one stxl&ce unit
is a function of the initial salt concentration and initial voltage. It is noted
that It is most convenient to obtain in such a manner radioactive layers on the
radiation sources in the form of needles. Emitters produced by the patented meth-
od can be used as radiation sources in contactless measurement of thickness,
levels, concentrations, for neutralization of electrostatic charges In the emit-
ter range (air ionization by .3-radiation), and In many other cases (e.g. ster-
ilization). The patented method can also be used to prepare layers emittingOIL
or T-particles and to apply emission layers of non-radioactivestrontium or bar-
ium on electrodes of electron tubes.

TEXTt The method suggested is distinguished by the fact, that with
electrolysis the voltage is gradually incr.easing to 100 - 10000 v.
Examplet Production of emitters containing SOO. Sr is converted into a
compound dissolvable in a chosen organic solvent (for example Sr sulfo-
cyanide in acetone). In the electrolysis of this solutiona layer of
Sr go Go 3. is deposited on the cathode owing to a gradual increase in voltage
up to several kv. The activity obtained per unit area is a function of

fullesf utilization of the 65-1950 naphtha fraction
Is thus attained.
