Seriy6 fizicheakaya, v. 26, PERIODICAL: no. 8f 1962, 979 - 992 T,T,'XT: The )jI.-spectra in the energy range from 0-4 to 9-5 Mov were measured in a magnetic Compton sp ectrometer giving a resolution of 0.3F~ for energie s above,2 Mev and of 0.65Z at Er 1 Mev, described earlier by Groshev et al. (Izv. AN 353R. Ser. fiz -1-2 , 791 (1960)). The spectrum of internal'con- version electrons in-the energy range from 20 kev to 3 Mev was measured in' a magnetic beta spectrometer with a resolution of 0 61% at E '.'.*300 kev and - of 1% at lower electron energies described earlier, by Peleekh.ov and Malov; (Izv. ANMR. Ser. fiz. 25, 106; (1961))* -The energy levqla of Cd114 are. of interest for investigating the lower 1 .evels in even-eveninuclei. To measure*the m rspectrum, a etallio cadmium target Consisting of the natural' S/046/62/026/co8/003/C28 Spectra of rTays and ... B163/B104 i -mixture of' isotopes was bombarded with thermal neutrons.' In the pspectnn 132 lines were resolved, containing 37% of the total energy released by the neutron capture. To measure the internal conversion spectrum a cadmium oxide target of 0.8 mg/CM2.thickness,.enriched to 85% Cd113 on an aluminum backine foil was used. This spectrum contained 36 lines up to energies o~ 1.7 Mev. The energies, relative intensities, and internal 6onversion coefficients of the lines were tabulated. From these data, a level scheme f was constructed assuming that the relatively intense lines with energies above 5 14,ev,correspond to transitions from the initial state formed by the neutron capture to the lower nuclear levels. The binding energy of the 114 ras found to be 900 + 3 kev. The characteristics of last neutron in Cd loweat levels at 558, 1134, 1209, 1283, 13o6, 1364, 1152, 1641, 1958 kev above -,he ground state areldiscussed. Mo: A specimen of 1.4 1,9 total weight, consisting of disks 55 mm in diameter, was used to measurethe spectrum in the 0.3-10 Mev range. Up to 80 % of the thermal neutrons were captured by Mo95. Nd: Range 0.3 to 9 Mev, 200-g specimen Vi/ of Nd203. 77 % of the spectrum is due to r-transitions of Nd144. The binding energy, Bn, of the last neutron in Nd144 was found to be 7-80 + 0.02 Mev.
