%dontification of Gram-Negative, Non-Formenting Bacteria in Clinical
Laboratories. b
Budapest, Kiserletes Orvostud Vol DIII, No 2. Apr 66, pages 216-M.
Abstracti (Authors' German summary) The identification of Gram-negative,
non-fomenting bacteria present in clinical samples is described. Their
identification as wall as differentiation from enteric bacteria Is done
with the following te3ts* Glucose splitting (oxidative or enzymatic).
oxidase reaction, splitting of urea, nitrate reduction, gelatins decomposi-
tion, motility. Those methods are usually Bufficient for differentia-
tion between Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Achromobaoter lwoffii, Achromobacter
anitratus, Bordetells, bronchiseptica, B. parapertussis, Alcaligenes faecalis
and Morszella duplex. I Hungarian. 16 Western references. (Manuscript

ABSTRACT:-The dec-bivosition of sodium aluminate and the precipitation of
Islumins crystals in Bayer-type alumina manufacture were investigated with
;special emphasis on the temperature conditions. An equation was derived for
'the characterization of the relation between factory temperature and the
,temperature of the aluminate liquor in the Korting cooler. It was found
!that the refinement of the aluminate particle size can be conveniently de-
termined by a filtration-resistance test. Studies were conducted to pro-
~vent the periodically occurLag particle-size decrease. These studies showed
that rature control is one of the most suitable means for the elini-

Myelitis viruses in Hun IOL. ACAEOSC'IOENT.
ma w3 ACTA MICROB
HUNG. (Budapest) 1956, 3/4 ( -4 ) Tables 2
Ten strains of poliomyelitis virus were isolated in tissue cultures made of
human embryos from cases occurring in Hungary in 1954. Four strains were
found to belong to type 1, 5 to type 2 and I to type 3. Neutralizing antibodies
against all 3 types were demonstrated in the blood of persons apparently hav-
ing no liomyelitis in their paid. In persons above 16 yr. of age: 73%. 81%
and 674pantibodies to type 1. 2 and 3 reap. were detected.
