Class 48, No. 186828 iSOURCE: Izobreteniya, promyshlennyye obraztsy, tovarnyye znaki, no. 19, 1966, 121 'TOPIC TAGS: phosphatizing, steel. p!x~ cadmium izinc ABSTRACT: This Author Certificate introduces a method of phosphatizing cadmium- plated or zinc-plated steel surfaces by treatment in a solution containing zinc monophosphate, magnesium nitrate and zinc oxalate. To obtain fine-grained phosphate films on parts with a complex configuration and a varying degree of surface finish, the composition of the solution is set as follows (in g/t): 10-15 zinc monophosphate,1 50-70 magnesium nitrate, 10-15 ammonium monophosphate, 1.7-2.0 ferric nitrate, 1.7-2.0 oxalic acid, 4 ml/1 "Progress" detergent and zinc oxalate, the latter up to saturation point. The process is carried out at 70-85*. i SUB CODE: 13/ SUBM DATE; 27May64/ 1 Unc: 621.794.62: _;)(t)/ETj/E,'1P(k) jjp(c) JD11,H. i L 40155-66 ACC NR, AP60257.16 SOURCE CODE: UR/0365/66/002/004/0425/0428 AUTHORt Ashogin. Results of the tests shoved that regardless of the surface finish prestrain up to 1.5% reduced the susceptibility of the 30KhGSNA steel to stress cor- rosion. HoweveA a higher prestrain increased afain the susceptibility. For example in tests under a stress of 50 kg/mm unstrained specimens failed in 17 minj and specimens prestrained 1.5 or 3% failed in 236 and 202 min, respectively. Lover susceptibility to stress corrosion 620.194 L 40155-66 ACC NR, AP6025716 _2 of 1.5% prestrained high-strength steels is explained by the deform& tion-induced decrease in the internal stresses. An increase of susc;p_~ tibility after 3% prestrain can be associated vith an Increase in the internal stresses and decomposition of martensite, tvith.Irecipitation' of iron carbides at local accumulations of disloc Lone Additional experimente, vith specimens heat treated to coarae-gFained structure shoved that the nonprestrained specimens fail along grain boundaries of former austenite. With prestrain up to 2% the fracture is partly intergranulari partly transgranular. With increasod prestrain up to 3@6~* the cracks predominantly tranagranular. TIUZ: Improving the ductile properties of high-chromium steels PMIODICAL-. Metallurg, no. 3, 1963, 27 - 29 TECT: The authors studied the effect of hot deformation temperature, cooling methods after rolling, and variants of heat treatment upon the ductile properties of high-chromium steels. Square and round specimens were subjected to the following variants of forging, heat treatment and cooling: preheating for forging from 1,000 - 1,200OC; forging completed at 700 - 9400C; heat treat- ment at 780 and 9000C during 4 hours, quenching in water and air. It was found that the ductility of steel, determined from the magnitude of contraction after forging, increased with lower forging temperatures. A considerable increase in ductility occurs when the temperature of completed forging is below 8000C. There was no marked difference between the properties of metals, cooled after forging in air, water and cinder. Heat treatment of forged metal at 7800C for 4 hours and cooling in water raises considerably the ductility of the steel and is re- Card 1/2 130/6 YOW00Y Crj 1. /00 1 Improving t. i ductile properties of high-chromium steels A006/A101 commended for steels which do not possess the required ductile properties after forging and rolling. Changes in the microstruoture, depending upon heat treat- ment conditions, were studied by heating square steel specimens to temperatures ranging from 700 - 1,1000C with different holding time, and cooling with the furnace, in air or in water. After heat treatment at over 8000C, the ductile properties of the steel remain low; they are normal at 7800C heating for 4 5 hours. There are 3 figures and 2 tables. An analynia was made of the external problem of the theory of thermal conductivity for the case involving constant tem- perature of the interface between the media. It was shown that, In the Card 1/3 3ases of plane and cylindrical symmetry, the existence of critical con- litions for the thermal explosion is associated with the "burning out" )f the substance in the preexplosion period, which takes place in the .ase of a nonzeroth order reaction. There exist no critical conditions .or those shapes in the case of a zeroth order reaction. In the case ,then the temperature of the Interface undergoes random variations, the ,.onjugate problem is reduced to a boundary value problem; in this case, the crite2ial analysis method makes it possible to establish Integro- Ufferential equations for heat fluxes acrois the surface of the body. Integro-differential equations were used for the criterial analysis of the system, and for the analysis of limiting cases of ideal heat trans- Cer (boundary conditions of the first gender) and of the absence of temperature distribution in the reaction zone. Calculations of the aritical conditions of the thermal explosion were carried out on an electronic computer, and the results were processed in the criterial Corm. The critical conditions of the thermal explosion of the system, Lnitial substance - surrounding medium, were calculated under different 3pecific conditions. The special features of the thermal explosion were inalyzed for the case of conductive external heat removal. It was shown that in the vicinity of critical conditions a quasi-stationary thermal regime holds for the reaction because of a decrease in time of the ef~- Cective external heat transfer coefficient.
