TITL17: Parameters and weight characteristics of vernier enFines
SOURCE: IVUZ. Aviatsionnaya teklinika, no. 2, 1966, 74-82
TOPIC TAGS: vernier engine, rocket trajectory, vernier rocket, rocket engine, thrust
vector control
ABSTRACT: A theoretical analysis was conducted of a cold gas-type vernier rccket
system to determine the effect of the working gas on the specific impulse and on the
weight of the gas feed tank. The specific i
#pulse developed by a vernier rocket was
calculated using nitrogenl helium\1 hydroge4k oxygen~) krypton, and argin as working
fluids. The obtained results indicate that a -deviation of (RT)*, where R is the gas
constant, and T is the gas temperature, from the optimum value results in a consider-
able reduction in the specific impulse. The specific impulse developed by 75% mix-
ture of nitrogen and helium was found to be 10% higher than that of nitrogen alone.
Since the gas temperature in the tank is limited, the selection of the gas determines
the type of material for the tank. For example, nitrogen, oxy _n. and, ethylen- are
considered to be optimum working fluids for feed tanks made of' Pl--- 7-1.

the efficiency of a vernier rocket can be improved by preheating the feed gas. Orig.

The rubbers were plasticized with dibutyl;pht~alate In4pfl-,or* viselinn oils,
which exhibit varying compatibility with the rubbers. TW.plasticizers were added
in amounts (7-50 v01%) which would not affect. the processabi lity of the E;ystems
The results of the study, given in tabular fornAndicated that: .1) cohesion
strength increases, monotonically with an increase in the amount of compatible ID as-e-1

In 1949-1950, the authors looked for the places where mosquitoes
breed in the foci of infection of both human and canine leishmaniasis
in 2 districts of Tashkent. In order to uncover the peculiarities of
the mosquitoes' life, soil from the burrows of rodents, birds' nests,
stables, dog houses, lavatories, etc. was examined. It is concluded
that the highest number of mosquitoes appear at the end of June and the
beginning of July, and in the nidale of August; moreover it is said
that the prevalent genus of these "mosquitoes" was the sandfly, Phlebo-r
tomus papata-sii. In 2 samples of soil, mosquitoes' skins and segments
of their larvae were found.
