Abstraett For the improvement of lime hydration operation,
a hydrator (H) that permits separation of the hy-
drated!:portion of lime from a portion that has not
undergone hydration, is utilized. Such an H con-
siats of a short and deep bath, the front pa.-t cf
which is equipped with a fast rotating mixing de-
vice. Fresh lime is fed into H by means of a p3ate
feeder. Steam generated in the process of hydra-
tion causes increased agitation and bubbling of H

ABSTRACT: The authors propose a new method of analyzing lead niobate and lead-
barium niobatc. The Vb is determine4,by the.peroxide method by means of a calilwa-

atoms, grain boundaries, etc., the slip bands often consisted of
thin doubled (parallel to each, other and closely located) slip lines.
A local transverse slip was caused by the passage of dislocations to
another slip plane, and adaptation bands were formed by the activa-
tion of supplementary slip planes. Cracking in a fine-grained alloy
was caused by the stress concentration at the dislocations accumu-
lated near obstacles. In a coarse-graLned alloy, cracking resulted
from the formation of kinks caused by the dislocations pinning in the
slLp plane, or from the absence of otherreadily available slip planes.
The experimental results indicate that the dislocation mechanism
assumed by J. Hoss and C. Barret In the compression of zinc single
crystals is the most probable inechanism of kink formation In hex&-
gonal metals. Orig. art. has: 2 figures.

ABSTRACT: The process of polythermal crys tallization of solid phases from
solutions of niobium hydroxide and oxalic acid or ammonium, potassium or so-
dium oxalate was shown applicable for the synthesis of oxaloniobic acid and its
alkali salts. The niobium hydroxide was made by reaction of K NbF7 with
NH OH; after filtering and washing the niobium hydroxide was Issolved in satur- 1_7

oxaloniobic acid and its salts are water-soluble white crystalline products; the
salts are insoluble in acetone, alcohol, ether and carbon tetrachloride, and the
acid is hydrolysed by alcohol and acetone. The thermograms showed dehydra-
