Abstract [English su=ary modified ]: Audiologic tests of 47 busy-corner
traffic policemen, 40 railroad post office workers, 80 persons living
in same railroad post-office building or a few other noisiest streets in
the Yugoslav capital revealed very high incidence of auditory impairment.
Continuous (night-and-day) noise is Tparently most noxious. Many factors
(including air pollution) may contribute. Further studies and consideration
of these aspects in urban planning and building legislation is urged.
Table; 3 graphs, 3 photographs; 6 audiograms; 5 Western, 2 Soviet and
13 Yugoslav references.

apparently to radiosensitize the lesions. Statistical data are permuted

Systems (1), (2), (3), (4), (5) are overdetermined and are of the same kind. They
are reduced to the normal form by the least-squares method. The systems of normal
equations thus obtained are solved by the compact Gauss method. The vorth length of
an immediate-across memory cell consisting of 28 characters is given. Transistor-
magnetic flip-flop, driver amplifier, and gated circuits are used in all computer

Runrary has been undergoing a profound political and economic change in the last
two years which has modified the policy of public health; the health polich has also
been determined by the three year plan. The assurance of a proper distribution of phy-
sicians and specialists in the country, which does not meet the requ:rements at
present, is one of the main objectives ofthe health authorities. Of the 8375 physicians
4672 live in the capital and towns; likewise a high proportion of health workers.
The public health organization for villages and farms needs to be re-orgodseds The
improvement of sanitary conditions, the care of convaleacents andthe employment of
people with decreased working ability arethe most urgent probeim. In the Hunga-
rian sanitary organ17ations the widespread decentralization constitutes the greatest
difficulty. Nursing and health protection are being carried out by several indepen-
dently functioning sanitar.- organizations and sick relief societies all of which belong
to differant ministries. The rest of the sanitary question show a similar aspect. The
distribution of health institutes and their accommodation capacity do not meet
reqWrements and the lack of acentral administration excludes the possibility of
cooperation of these organizations. The nationalization of these questions will neces-
sarily involve the solution of a general sick insurance embracing the whole nation.
