They are similar to tetracyclines (III) as far as the structure of two rings is concerned. In the third ring they have a reactive double linkage in position 20. The present paper investigates the addition of heterogeneous re- agents to the 2,3-double linkage of compounds (I) for intro- ducing active groups into their molecules. The active groups are necessary for establishing a y-grouping (II) in the D-ring and for a further extension of the A-ring of tetracyclines by a method previously elaborated. Investigations have shown &t compounds (I) mith typical electrophilic reagents such as Hal 2, RCO3H and HORal react readily. The investigations demonstrate that the influence of the blast furnace production on the composition of metal has increased. This shows an important positive trend in the development of blast furnace production in the USSR. In 1955 also 1.462.000 t steel chips were used in the productioa of cast iron and open hearth pig iron apart from pig iron scraps and pig iron chips. ABSTRACT: When studying the method of constructing bunkers for the "Oktyabrlskayall the Pridneprovskiy 1xistitute (instit- , ut) of the Promstroyproyekt decided to adopt prec ast reinforced constructions.
