"Gornyy zhurnal" the article under the above title
for discussion purposes. In answering him, N.I.
Skorubskiy,-flatly rejects the proposition of cal-
culating net costs by separate production processes
He says that thlp method was already used for a sho;t
time in the Krivay Rog iron ore basin, and in the
Nikopoll manganese basin. In 1940 the Glavruda of
the former Ministry of the Ferrous Industry tried to
introduce the.method in all mines, only to scrap it

extremely complicated and clumsy. M.A. Gurvich also
disagrees with Patrikeyev, though he says some of
his propositions can be considered. He also thinks
that the whole problem of cost calculation must be
thrashed out at a conference of representatives of
all interested enterprises and scientific-research
organizations.

The power relations between direct and verbal conditioned stimuli in subjects of
various iges (from 8 to 29 yr. ) have been studied. The study was conducted by the
motor method with speech reinforcement (Ivanov-Smolensky). It was found that
when a stimulus consisting of verbal and direct light components of opposite sig-
nificance is applied, all the subjects respond first to the direct stimulus. With an
increase in age, the number of subjects with a conditioned reaction to a verbal
component increases.

ABSTRACT: The practice of five years has shown that excavators
at the Krivorozhskiy karlyer Yazhnogo gorno-obogatitell-
nogo kombinata YuGOK (the Krivoy Rog Open-Cut Mine of
thesouthern Mining and Concentrating Combine) are not
being fully exploited. The coefficient of utilization
does not exceed 0.35 ; the remaining 65P/ol of the working
time, the excavators stand idle. The reason for this
