The binary systems Bi 20 3 - MOO3 and PbO - MOO 3 were completely in- vestigated for the first time. Three congruent compounds were found in the -former system: Bi 2(-'004)31 m.p. 6480C; Bi 2LoO 6t m'P' 9700c; and 3Bi20 3* Moo 39 m.p. 9900C. The latter compound forms solid solutions with Bi 203 and Bi 21,400 6* The solid solutions with Bi 2 03show neither maxima nor minima. The solid solutions of 3Bi 2 03' Moo3 with Bi 2.11006show a temperature minimum at 9300C and 33-3~a MOO 3' The compound Bi 2(MOO4 )3 forms with Card 1/4 S/07 62/007/005/012/014 The ternary system Bi 2 03 - 1400 3 - PbO B10113110 Bi a eutectic at 6360C and 72-5/o lio, and with ,~'oO a eutectic at 2 3 06180C and 81.5cio' !,1100 3' Two compounds were found in the system PbO - MoO 3 1 Pb 2MOO 51 m.p. 9520C, and PbMoO 41 m-P. 100650C. Eutectics exist at 11-7; 37.5; and 82.5,;o MoO , their melting points are 7062, 935, and 6800C, Iv 3 0 . A respectively. The surface of primary crystallization of the ternary system -was also studied for the first time (Fig. 5). The greater part of the crystallization surface consists of solid solutions Bi 2 03+ 3Bi 202* MOO 3* The solid solutions 3Bi 203' '.11003+ Bi 2moo6decompose within the ternary syszem into their components. TITL~,s Investigation of the system B12o 3 - T102 - PbO PERIODICALs Zhurnalneorganicheskoy khimii, v. 8, no. 2, 1963, 384 - 388 TFXTi The binary system Bi20 3 - T102 was investigated with the aid of the fusibility mEthod up to a content of 30 moles Ti02. A new congruently melt- ing compound, Bi24 TiO 3.1 m-P. 8440c, was found, which crystallizes in a cubic body-centered lattice (a - 9.05 :t 0.02 kX). Mixed with 2.5 moles Ti02 it forms a eutectic with the m.p. at 7970C and containing 10.0 moles Ti02 it forms a eutectic, having the-m.p. at 8210C. Additionally, through X-ray analysis, the compounds Bi 4Ti3012 and Bi2Ti 3 09were found. From dilatometric and thermographic investigations it followed that Bi2 Ti 3 09 undergoes a phase transition between 160 and 2600C. In the ternary system Bi2o 3 -Ti02 - PbO the crystallization regions of the phases B12OY Card 1/3 Investigation of the system... TITLE: An Apparatus for the Determination of the Aniline Sources of Dark Mineral Oil Products (Pribor dlya opredeleniya anilinovykh tochek temnykh nefteproduktov). PERIODICAL: Zavodskaya Laboratoriya, 1957, Vol. 23, Nr 7, PP- 873-873 (USSR) ABSTRACT: The apparatus consists of an electric pocket torch, a test tube. with pressed-in bottom into which a bulb is fitted, the "wire mixer", and a thermometer. 3 ml aniline and a mineral oil product are introduced into the tube. The moment of complete dissolution is controlled by interior illumination. If the solution becomes dull, the filament of the bulb is invisible, By means of this apparatus it is possible to determine aniline sources. There is 1 figure. TITLE: Epoxy resin patterns PERIODICAL: Liteynoye proizvodstvo, no. 5, 1960, 37-38 TEXT: The article deals with epoxy resin patterns used at the Lenin- gradskiy zavod im. Lepse (Leningrad Plant im. Lepse). The patterns have a smooth finish, requiring no mechanical working, and molding sand does not stick to the pattern suaface. The accuracy and surface finish of castings is equal to that of castings made from metal patterns. Epoxy resin patterns are formed on wooden or metal master patterns. Wooden master patterns are used for r-OCT 1855-55 and rOCT 2009-55 (GOST 1955-55 and GOST 2009-55) patterns for castings of simple config uration, while metal patterns are employed for casting of 2nd class tolerances. The manufacturing technology of sand molds, consisting of a metal molding plate (1), wooden molding box (2), master model (3), coating layer (4) and basic sand mixture (5) is shown in Figure 1. Wooden patterns are coated with epoxy glue of -1,he following composition: 39 weight parts 9A-6, BTY M 646-55 (ED-6, VTU M 646-55) epoxy resin; 8 parts Card 1/4 5/128/60/000/005/003/004 Epoxy resin patterns A104 A133 by weight dibutylphtalate i-Q-T3863-47 (GOST 3663-47); 3 parts by weight Do- lyethylene polyamine BTY 0-10-57 (VTU P-10-57) or tailings of hexamethylene diamine OTY No. 13x-23-28 (VTU No. 13kh-23-28) and 50 parts by weight ace- tone. The sand mold consists of a 2 - 4 MM coating layer and the basic sand mixture. The coating layer is composed of 52 weight parts 3A-6, BTY 646-55 (ED-6, VTU 646-55) epoxy resin; 8 parts dibuthyl.ph,talate FOCT 3863- 47 (GOST 3863-47); - 5 parts BTY IT-10-57 (VTU P-10-57) polyethylene polyamine or 10 parts tailings of hexamethylene diamine BTY No. 13x-23-28 (VTU No. 13kh -23-28) and 30 parts marshalite. Plastics molds are shown in Figure 2 where dibuthyl-phtalate is used as plasticizer. Two epoxy resin pattern mixtures are recommended. The first consists of 31.0 parts by weight 9A-6 87Y M 646- 55 (ED-6 VTU M 646-55) epoxy resin, 3.1 parts by weight rOCT 3863-47 (GOST 3863-47) dibutylphtalate, 3.1 parts by weight STYP-10-57 (VTU P-10-57) Po- lyethylene polyamine and 62.8 parts by weight ACM TY 3648-53 (ASM TU 3648-53) powdered iron. The second mixture consists of 30.3 parts by weight ~A-6 BTY m 646-55 (ED-6 VTU M 646-55) epoxy resin, 3.3 parts by weight FOCT 3863--47 (GOST 3863-47) dibuthylphtalate, 6.6 parts by weight OTY No. 1323-58 (VTU No. 1323-58) hexamethylene diamine tailings and 59.8 parts by weight ACM TY Card 2/4 ~._pox.y i-es~n patterns 3 / 12 8/60 /0 0, -0 '/004 A104/Al 33 3648-53 (ASMI TU 3648-53) povidered iron. The physical and mechanical pro- pertien of the pattern materials are: linear shrinkage 0.3~p', hardness jil ~diafnetter 5 mm, I'oad 250 k9) 25 - 25, tensile strength 450 - 460 kg/em elons-alion 0.2c"L, toughness 0.12 - 0.14 kg'm/CM2 U . The wear resistance of Dat- terns is increased by heat~treatment in the electric furnace according to the following conditions: heating to 300C for 1 hour, 2 hours holding; temper- ature increaoe to 500c for 1 hour, 4 hours holding; 1.5 hours cooling down to 300C, 2 - 3 hours holding and 1 hour holding in the switched off furnace. Standard patterns made of epoxy resin and devised for the largo-scale pro- duction of malleable cast iron castings are shown. Patterns of epoxy resins co,mpletely eliminate mechanical and bench work.
