PMPOSE: This is a textbook approved by the Ministry of Higher Education
of the USSR for use at the electrical engineering institutions of
higher education and faculties. According to approved teaching pro-
grams, problems of automatization of power s7stems are studied in
two allied courses: "Relay Protection" and 'Automatization of Power
Systems". The contents of the latter are not yet definitely deter-
mined. This book is the first attempt to create a systematic text-
book. Most of the material in t e book may also prove of value for

Nr 3, pp 13 - 14 LL/1'
ABS-rRACT: The author describes a method of cutting outer and inner threads of second
class accuracy with the aid of special heads mounted on 'the cross-carriage
slide of screw-cutting lathes. Heat-treated (RC 33) pins are threaded, having
a length of1from 36 to 56 mm and being made of the steel grades 30VIM,15
3OKhGSA &ndW25Kh2MFA, and nuts of M112 - M56 size, made of the steel grades
1.35 --- a-n-37_"~)KhMX.---R-aR-alloy cutters with honed cutting edge are used as cutting
Gools. The durability of the cutters amounts to 60 min. Chips are removed
by compressed air. In comparison with the standard methods of cutting
threads with cutters and taps, the efficiency was Increased by 2 - 3 times.
Cutting conditions are described. Two photos.
