ABSTRACT: The possibility was investigated of obtaining thin filmsApf oxide electron,

ples of the evaporated substance by electron bombardment. The initial samples of the
substance were obtained by sintering chemically pure oxides in a hydrogen atmosphere
or in vacuum (10-4 _ 10-5 M Hg). Sputtering by electron bombardment was carried out
at Va - 1 - 2 kv and Ja - 100 - 200 ma. The evaporation and condensation were car-"
ried out under conditions of high vacuum (10-S - 10-0 mm Hg) or superhigh vacuum
(10-7
_ 10--9 m Hg). Both isotropic and anisotropic substrates, heated to different*

ABSTRAOT : The investigations were cowJucted daily oveAr
the period from 10 to 27 July 1957, i.e., over a time
interval from green stage to complete maturity of the seed.1

Kyniographic recordings were used as a method of investigating CSF pressure.
Specific curves were obtaine,,,: normal partial block, stagnation block and total
block. This method reveals even slight impairments in the subarachnoid space,
excluding any suspicion of compression processes in the vertebral canal, in the

Abstract : The authors investigated primary and secondary sutures ofperipheral
nerves to see which is preferrable for their regeneration. They
used a dog whose radial nerve had been cut 3 cm from its branching
point. The left branch was repaired with primary, the right one
with secondary suture, the latter being applied from 6 days to 5
weeks later. Microscopic study proved-that following primary su-
ture the nerve fibers were maturd, strongY with normal myeline lay-
ers and neurokeratine development, while following secondary suture
the fibers were immature, weak, and had faulty alignment and shape.

TEXT: The spectrup of a sunspot taken with dispersion of 1.25 A/mn was
used to plot the curve of growth. Equivalent widths are measured for 237 lines
of:iron. They turned ou~Lto be larger than the corresponding values measured in
the photosphere, the difference decreasing with the growth of excitation poten-
tial. Strengths of oscillators of the lines for which they were not known, were
deto'rmined by relating to the curve of growth plotted by L. A. Mitrofanova for
the photosphere. Theoretical curves of growth are calculated for the homogeneous
model. The superposition of the observed curve of growth with the theoretical
one yielded the following values of physical parameters in the sunspot: damping
parameter.a = 0.08; turbulent velocity = 2.8 km1sec; exditation temperature
