The automatic control of steam boilers in povrer plants is extremely
important from an economic point of view. The louses occurring due to
the fall of pressure and temperature:of the stesm.can be demonstrated@..
by mans of the 'entropy diagram. These losses eazi be substantially reduced
b, - automatic firing and temperature controls sinqxr the pressure @, and, 'tbe
t mperature of the superheated steam can be kept upproximately constant
b- - control devices. In addition to improvIng the. efficiency of the pmmr
eagine operated by controlled steamp the increased load capaoity-also
contributes to the improvement of the total efficiency of.the units
comected to tha national mains. The possibilitics for admomy dre illus-
trated by numerical examples worked out for condensation and back@pressure-
plantes By the correct automatization of the feed regulator, the water
space of the boilers can be used for damping shooks due to the drawing

In a series of 12 cases of sure diagnosis and 3 probable cases tests were repeated-
ly performed in the CSF and in the blood serum. The results were inconstant and
no clear relation with the cell-count and albumin content of the CSF could be found.
In some positive cases the titre of CSF fell with the developing remission. that of
the blood serum remained rather high. The antibodies looked for were in some
cases found first in the blood, but oftener appeared simultaneously in both media.
The serum titre regularly surpassed that of the CSF. Some sure cases yielded
negative results. In probable cases in which neither signs of tuberculous infection
nor a positive CSF culture supported the diagnosis, serially positive serological
testir plead for a tuberculous process. In spite of the low titre and of its late turn-
ing positive, the antibodies of the CSF are thought to be partly of local origin. This
view is based on the experimental studies published in the literature on the subject.
which concern various antigens and the nature of the luetic reagins of the CSF.

EEG examination was performed In 50 Soldiers aged 29-23 yr., affected with enur-
esis nocturna. In 10 of them X-ray examination showed Spina bilida In the lumbo-
sacral spine. There was no correlation found between the EEG pattern and Spina
bifida. Epileptic recordings were not found; however, in mostof the records some
slow waves (5-7 c.p.s.) were present, particularly in the cases enuretic since child-
hood. This data support the hypothesis of the immaturity of the nervous system in
cases of enuresis nocturna. (Vill, 19)

result in clear ch-ariges in the lipid metabolism. No relation
was found between the length of service and the blood choles-

TEXT. A coding system is described which was uaed for control of remote
repeater stations. This system was developed by the State Teletrans-
mission Establishment. The remote controlling station governs up to 10
telemetering stations connected into a line, in one direction or in two
opposite directions. The controlling capacity is up to 10 objectives
and 24 signals for each of the 10 remotely controlled stations. For
code transmission, two acoustic lines of 200 and 800 ohms were used. One
line was used for calling and driving the remotely controlled station,
the other for reporting and signalling. Each of the 10 remote stations
can receive 20 commands (on or off for 10 objectives) and return 68 re-
ports. These reports refer to the state of the remote station, state of

ABSTRACT: The electronic industry requires a uniform 10-micron thickness of the
nickel film on 0. 15-mm carbon steel strip nickel-clad on both sides. Studies at the
Baildon Steel Works for developing a method to measure such films accurately,
undertaken in cooperation with the Chair of Metallurgy and Heat Treatment, Academy
of Mining and Metallurgy, were concluded in 1965. The film thickness was deter-
mined by the "jet-time, " microscope, and chemical methods on microsections of
