ABSTRACT: In attempt is made to select peripheral negative pion-nucleor,
interactions which can be described by a one-pion exchange model. The cr'-teriF-
used to select the events are listed. Altogether, 101 events satisfied the
--ri.teria from among 9151 Pi-minus N interactions. From the fELLt that the number
of (Pi, N) and (Pi, Pi) isobars amo-rig 16:9 events is relatively, swll, it :-G
concluded that the number of events going through the isobar channels is only e.
small fraction of the total number of the Pi-minus N interactions at 7 Bev-

Abstract: The spectrophotcmetric method was used to study the
formation, composition and.-s--ability of the blup
.7colored
complexes of Fyrocatechol Violet (HuFT)-with BV-, Zr
(4+), Sn%'4+). Th4+, Ga3+, A13+ and In:3+, which are
formed even in an acid medium. For all the elements,
with the exception of Sn and Ti, the corresponding

stability constants of the complexes were calculated.
Measurements were made at a constant ionic force 0.2.
From the dependence of extinction on pl;, at long
wave lengths corresponding on the whole to absorption
maxima of individual complexes, it is apparent that
with increasing pil there are gradually formed com-
plexes of' H,~W with individual cathions, in the
previously stated sequence, and the stability of the
complexes decreases according to the same sequence.
Trend of correlation between extinction and wave
length, at different concentrations of cathions and
constant values of pH, shows in the cage of Pi, 7r,
Th. On. A]. and In a emdual fomation of several com-
plexes. With large excesses of the metals the absorp-
tion curves are similar to one another ani hr-e in

most instances a sharp maximum at 610-620 PtA .
Irrom values of extinction at a definite wave
length and constant pH, depending upon the ratio
of interacting component parts, it follows that
3- and 4-valent metals, analogous3y to the 2-va-
lent, form with HrFV mono- and bi-raetallic com-
plexes. Trend of extinction curves in the case
of Bi evidences the existence of a 3 metallic
complex. at pH above 3, which is due to forration
of BiO . The same results were obtained by the
method of continuous reasureynents. This method
confirms the existence of mono- and bimetallic
complexes of H~-FV with Bi. Ca, Al and In, and
shm.,s that F,~PV also forms coriplexes In which
the ratio ILPV:metal=2.1 (for example, with
