ABSTRACT: Creep phenomena of Azerbaidzhan SSR territory are
associated iith the mountain river systems of nine
regions: I' the Kirovabad-Kazakh Mountains and the
valley of tie middle branch of the Kura River from
Akstafa to fingechaur. Most affected are the valleys
of the DzegEm-Chay Shamkhor-Ghay Gyandzha-Chay, and
partly the Iyurak-6hay Rivers. 21 The Alazan-Agru-Chay

ABSTRACT: The author describes the results of investigations of
samples from Irill holes in one of the districts of the

ALSTRACT: The paper gibes a brief description of the geological
structure ani hydrogeological environment in the Kura
River valley along its middle course, a segment ex-
tending for ?50 km from Akstafa to Mingechaur. In
this stretch, the fall of the river is about 0.7 M/km-
