were reported since 1963 on some. state farms. The percentage of moldy
euggs sometimes reached 30%. Spread of the funaus was assisted by transfer

hrough the air, through the 1";tter, and through the handling of the eggs.
Spores form on the surface ol the shell; after germination it penetrates
the shell and then into the embryo. Disinfection and increasing the
level of cleanliness, especially the use of sodium pentachlo 0
rophenolate,
affected some remedy. Complete and permanent remedy can be achieved only
by a long-range effort. No references.

Abstract: A detailed description was given of a case involving hidden,
isolated pancreas injury in a 39-year old man who has been kicked in
the abdomen during a fight. The clinical observations and the results
of the autopsy (the patient died six days after the injury) were presented
and discussed in some detail. The presence of fat necrosis always clearly
indicates pancreas injury; however, in cases such as that discussed there
is always a possibility of additional injury in the intestinGs,, liver,
spleen, and rectum. 27 references, including 5 Hungarian, 2 German, and
20 Western.

ABSTRACT: The measuring installation described is suited for the determination of
P-activities of a pCL order of magnitude. A pair of anti-coincidence-shielded GM
tubes were used in the apparatus under discussion. By means of suitable shielding
and electric circuits it has been achieved that the background of the apparatus was
0.9 � 0.1 cpm with a sensitivity identical with!that of GM-tube measuring

paper describes experimental work done with freeze-dried skin. When used
human subjects, both the autogenous and homogenous freeze-dried grafts were
after a pruliminary period of quite good 'take'. The only use for this proce-
dure would appear to be the advantage that grafts so treated can be stored at
room temperature indefinitely. Apart from this there is no advantage to the pa-
tient which is not already available by ordinary homogenous grafting.

The Rehn-5-clorme operation consists of resection of a few cm. of anorectal
mucosa. Circular suture of the mucosa causes a plication of the muscularis of
the lower part of the rectuni. There is, however, a lack of fixation of this circul-
arly plicated muscle ring, which may prolapse through the sphincter and cause
incontinence. In the modification described the circular folds are stitchad to-
gether and (lie lowest fold is fixed to the levator ani which is uncovered above th,:!
sphinct.er. This technique was successfully used in 4 cases.

Seven of the-m were a3sociated with gall-stone disease, one was a hapatogastric
fistula caused my --tomach cancer, and one a choledochoduodenal fistula pro-
duced by duodenal ulcer penetration. In five cases choledochotomy was per-
form.ed, in two cases e-ternal and internal choladochoduodemstomy, respectively,
and in three cases stomach resect-ion was necessary. Two patients died.
Attantion is called to the significance of early surgival treatxent of the
cholacystitis acca.Lpanied by stone formation in order to reduce the risk
of frequently dangerous complications. 54 References, mainly Tabstern.

hypotension, an elevation was noted in the rate of diuresis, sodium ex-
cretion, PAH clearance and glomerular filtration in response to BON admin-
istration. These results are not changed, In principle, by the fact that,
because of the high degree of oliguria in cases oil untreated hemorrhagic
hypotension,, PAR and creatinine are unreliable indicators of the renal
plasma flaw and of glomerular filtration. On the basis of the results., the
compound, which is practically free of side effects, should be tried out in

Tn-itrate tests, TTC test, etc.) used in quantitative bacteriology involving
the urine are surveyed and the results of comparative studies, using these
methods, are reported. Significant bacteriuria was correctly indicated by
the simple Gries-Ilosvay type of nitrite test in 55 per cent, by the Sleight
type modification of the nitrite test and by the Stroke plate techilique in
98.5, and by the TTC test in 90 per cent of the cases. The combination of a
chemical-test and of a semiquantitative culture procedure is considered to
