ABSTRACT: An experimental industrial process is described, permitting the
soparation of the C2-C + fraction from natural gas containing 93% m t
a hanot 3-5%
etha~o, 2.0% propane., ~.2% butane, and 0.3% pentane, and enriched with 30-100
gm/nr3 of gasoline. The separation was achieved at an experimental industrial
installation at the rates of 50 and 75 m3 per hodr, The method used hero had been
described in an article entitled "Gasaline a tripping of Natural Gas" LUstrac-
ter's notet author not give_q. The apparatus consists of a rectification column
(with a continuous cmatercurrent -type flow) in which the gaseous bq&-ocarbon phase

moves upward, while activated charcoal of the %LT-M type (granulated to 0.7-1.5m4.
moves downward. The upper part of the column servos as an adsorber, and the
lower part acts as a desorber in which the charcoal gives up the adsorbed gases
under the direct impact of blown heated gas containing a"dynamic agent" of unspec-,
ified composition, admixed to the non-absorbed portion of the gas from the
adsorber. This residual gas consists mainly of methane with nearly 40% ethane,
and some propane. With such an installation it was possible to recover from the
original gas sample: 100% cf the gasoHm and butane, 77-100%of the promne,aM4o-86%
ofthe ethane. The ratio of 164 kg of charcoal per cubic motor of gas was the optima
(larger quantities of coal had an adverse effect on the yLeld)o The optimum amount

ABSTilACT: Vine reaction of RbCl with calcium-silicon containing 67~'~' Ga-S12 can be
expressed in th- form of a final reaction: 2R*bC1 + CaSi2 = GaC12 4- Z-11D :~r, was
-jin i n the form of vapors. The process of this reaction was studied
by (1) continuous of the decrease in the charge wei-Zat a-. consl~anz, tempe,-
ature, and (2) electrochemically by determining the polarization of -the calciiz,-, siliC4M
electrode in 11bG1 (polarization current curves vs the value of polarization). -Dae 2 g
briquets (15 mm in diameter and 4.5 mm in thickness), which were made by campr-ession
iat 1000-7500 kg/cm2 of the mixtures of calcium silicon and WoCl, were used in -the
~first method), and in the second method liquid calcium silicon was charged --n-.0 a p",r-
celain tube containing RbC1. The kinetic curves were plotted (degree of raCucction v
!time) to characterize the reduction of RbC1 (1) at 700C in vacu= 12-3 x IG-2 = H-3

under varlous ratios of CaSi2 : RbGl, and (2) in a:i Ar atmosp]nera at 750i3 a::d at
various residual pressures of Ar (1, 5, and 10 mm H-). The ch~~,iges of tne
ratio within a wide range had little effect on the reduction of ~fbCl. T.--3refccre,
subsequent experiments were made at CaSi2 : KDCl = 3. The chan.-2s in press-are aurin.-,
briquatting also did not change the reaction parameters. The separate of a
layer of XbGl under a layer of calcium silicon resulted in 36 no-~.iceable decrease in
the rato of reduction. It was thus concluded that the reduction of ?WC! occu.:-red most-
ly by the reaction of calcium silicon with liquid RbCl. The optimal con"itions were
achieved during the two-stage reduction: (1) reduction at 756~ in Ar atmo-!Yaare un6er
an Ar pressure of 5 mm H9, and (2) creation of a vacut;m in the system. and fa:*-r*,her re-
duction at 900C. About 70% Rb was reduced durinla 'the two-stage process. The 11,bG1 whi. ch
evaporated durin-, reduction concentrated separately from the metall and was recill.rc,-1-
ated. The two-sta,7e reduction occurred practically without perm.,Lriant losses of 2101,11.
iThe second set of exp,~riments (electrochemical) suagested that, the reaction a- the
iboundary of calcium silicon and RbC1 occurred in two stages: CaSi Ca2+ * 2S-*L + Z-. and
2?,b+ + 2e42,qb. The reaction (1) can therefore be considered as the result of -.1ne work
of a shortcircuited cell. The anode oxidation of the negative Si ions and the cathode

,'reduction o Xb occurred in this cell. The calculation of apparent eneri~y of activation.

Curves and the Rates of Creep and Relaxation

The causes of congenital dislocation of the hip and the signs by means of which
extsting luxation or a predisposition to it can be identified in the first days of 11ife
are discussed. Since 1-1-1954 all newborns at the hospital are examined as to
dysplasia of the hip joint and if this defect is found the child is submitted to a
periodical thorough examination until its 12th-14th month rif life. If a radiogram
of the joint shows lesions, a conservative treatment (Frejka's abduction pillow or
Gmica's braces) is used. Recovery (fixation of the femoral head in the acetabulum.
good centering and a normal development of the dysplastic joint) was obtained in
