ABSTRACT: Conditions of asymptotic stability of a third-order automatic -control
system upon a sudden disturbance were investigated in previous (referenced)
papers. Experiments staged by R. M. Eydinov showed that a disturbance in the
sliding conditions does not impair the quality of control; in a certain sense, the
disturbance may even improve it. The present article offers theoretical and
experimental substantiation for the stability of the above system when sliding

conditions are d-,sturbed. A third-order differential equation describing the tran-
sients in the control system is considered, and the case of a jump disturbance is
discussed. An auxiliary theorem is formulated and proved. Results of the theo-
retical study were verified on a sort of experimental kit (IVIN-\LI model) that
included 3 inertial units, 2 amplifiers, a summation unik, and-lAinverter.
0scillograms aiven in the article are evidence that a disturbance in sliding condi-
tions, within certain limits, does not affect the quality of automatic control.
Hence, the correction method is offered for the automatic control systems whose

A,Li_'TRA(,T: In spring 1956 a rare case of ice formation at a positive air
and water temperature was observed in the Perebors1dy Bay of the
1(ybinsk storage reservoir. On May 11th the wind drove a large
quantity of ice from the 3torage reservoir into the above men-
tionpd buy already free from ice. Before the arrival of the ice
the wator temp~_,rature in this was +2.7 0 0in 0-4 m depth. It sank
after the appearance of the ice to +1.6 . In the night of
May 14th all gaps in the ice-covered area and the ice-free sur-
faces of the bay were covered by fresh crystalline ice of up
to I cm thickness, This ice formation was preceded by winds
from the Northern quadrants. The water temperature dropped to
-1.0 (luring the night in which the ice formed. 0The lowest
ground temperature was, however, not below +1.8 and there was
lice nAFht frost. A rare phenomenon such as this has only been

ABSMICT: Galactorrhea is more frequent In neurotic than in
psychotic patients not recelving neuroleptio medication. Out of
a group of 462 women treated with psychotropic drugs It was
found in 98 (21.2%). In schizophrenics the frequency was 32%,
in manic depressives 15%, and In neuroties 14%. When only pa-
tients treated with phenothiazines with dimethylaminopropyl side i
chains are considered, the frequency in schizophrenia was 30%,
and in neurosis 5.7%. In schizophrenio patients treated with
phenothiazines with a piperazine side chain,thi frequency was
