The deviation of hysteresis loops from an ideally I Fectangular shape is related to the Gaussian probability parameters xi,'and x2 . From ia commutation curve, the dependence of the permeability on the magnetic field (H) was 'obtained. The maximum permeability occurred at 112H0.< H ! 2H0 , whe re Hais the coer- icive force. Limiting hysteresis curves were presented for fields which were 7-9 times Card L 08~00-67 ACC NRt AT6028988 greater than HC. Heat resisting ferrites were tested in a TS-15 thermostat, after placing the samples in a copper cylinder filled with transformer oil. The temperatur4 dependence of 11H dHIdT, 1/B dBIdT, and 1/a daldT was given; where a = B 1B and B is r m r. the residual inductance, and BMis the maximum inductance. On the average, H C changed 0.1 %/deg. Curie point determinations of high accuracy were made with the photoelec- i tric fluxmeter. The Curie points off heat resistant and ordinary ferrites were identic- ,al. A statistical analysis was done on experimental values of H and B obtained from 0 M a column containing 50 small samples. The deviation of B and M frcu the arithmetic M_ 0 mean did not exceed 5%. Orig. art. has: 7 figures, 2 tables, 9 famulas. OPHTHALMOLOGISTS IN THE "J. S. S. R. FOR 40 YEARS (Russian text) - Talkovsky S. 1. - VESTN.OFTAL. 1957, 5 (16-20) The number of ophthalmologists in the USSR increased in this proportion: in 1913 there were 300 oculists, 2000 beds and 10 medical schools. In 1955, there were 1i 7285 oculists, 21,268 beds and 68 medical institutes with eye hospitals. The pro- blem of training ophthalmologists is still a serious one. The beat form of pre- paring qualified ophthalmologists is the three years residence in the institutes which trains them for later independent work. However, this form of preparation produces too few eye specialists. Therefore, shorter courses of a few months duration dedicated to the actual clinical problems of ophthalmology is accepted in t many medical institutes. The better qualified oculists are sent to the periphery and less qualified ones are trained Instead in the larger centres. The medical students are encouraged to select their specialty in ophthalmology while still in school by developing in them an interest in ophthalmology through discussion clubs of ophthalmological problems, etc. The need for, increasing the number of ophthalmologists to cover the remote regions of the USSR is still great. A detailed description of the above plant is given. The processing can be divided into 3 main groups: the washing, crushing and grading of materials. The materials am graded into 3 categories: 0 - 60 mm, 25 - 60 mm and 60 - 80 The hourly output of this section is 400 tons (i.e. 250 m3j. Work is-carried out in 3 shifts. The net working time/man/ year = 5.,856 hours. The production-cost of-1 ton of uncrushed lime-stone was 11.48 Roubles in 1955, in 1956 it amounted to 11.74 R5ubles/ton. The average output of a worker was 7 000 m per year. The raw limestone is stored in a bunker (capacity 300 -tons), A lamellar feeding conveyor PT -12---2.4 m .serves for the transportation of the material from the bunker. The materials are divided into 2 streams, according to their degree of hardness. Crushing plants SHCHKD - 91 KKD - 500, KIKD - 900 are used. Vibro-grading plants have not been ,.,r2(h3 The Elenovsk Factory for washing, crushing and a ing stone. (Cont.) installed because of their weight. The processing of the aggregate for concrete and reinforced concrete consists in crushing to the required sizes and then grading. An altern- ative possibility for washing the material is washing by means of heavy suspensions. The ordinary washing is carried out on cascading sieves (with water) under vibration. The washers are mark GVK - 1, and trough-washers KM - 75 and KM - 125, with 125 tons/hour output. Stomge is provided on the site of the factory, tIxe storage place having a capacity of 80 000 tons. Underground passages are under the storage area for the transportation of,the material to the bunkers. Above the ground are overhead inclined conveyors for the equal distr. ibution of -the material over the whole area. Complete auto- mation of all processes is recommended for the further improve. ment of similar factories to be erected in the near future. There are ?figures. ILUTHOR: _T!Elak I. Such a plant with an output of 1.,000,000m per year was worked out by the All Soviet Institute Orgenergostroy. Two variations of the scheme were prepared, firstly,,all the year round production, second- 1Y,seasonal Production. Scheme of the first variant is illustrated in Pigure 1. Detailed description of the processes and types of machinery used are given. The plan at Figure 6 indicates an all-the-year round continuous operation. Phases of processing are described in detail. Vibrating sieves GUF-II-K and GUP-I-OM are used. The second variation is based on seasonal working using the same method of processing of sand purification and enrichment as in the first instance with the exception of the drying process which is omitted. The third variation differs from'the previous two inasmuch as it uses a hydraulic separator and classificator of new design (see figure 7-j Vibrating sieves GUP-II-K and GUP-I-OM are also used. Kiev, Naukova dunika, 1965, 13 7- 14 0" TOPIC TAGS: electric capacitor, electric capacitance, electric inductance, electric power source, electric networ'V KIMS-1:4c4pacitor ABSTRACT: The article describes the design and finaf construction of a capacitor bank rated 625 W and intended to operate at four different charging voltages (50, 100, 200 and 250 kv), with muc'h larger operating life than earlier designs (not less than 200 000 discharges as against 2000 - 5000) and with low total inductance. The main stages of th6 development consisted of designing a special capacitor (type IMIS-1), rated 10 PF (12.5 kJ), and a special system of interconnecting and switching the capacitor bank, consisting of special discharge gaps and various high-voltage coaxial cablei. Problems involved in stacking the capacitors Into columns, mechanical strength7- and safety during discharge are also discussed. Orig. art. has: 4 figures, 5 for- mulas, and 2 tables. In July 1956t the "Baltic Sail Week" and later "All-Union Sailing Content" took place at the Tallin roadstead. Both events were served by amateur radio commanication; low- power transmitters, 0.5 to 1, were installed on cutters, yachtil, and on the shore. They secured reliable radio comminication at distances up to 6 km. Radio amateurs Adrik and Kallmo are mentioned in the article. Mellder, captain of the Tallin port expressed his high appreciation of the work of the radio amateurs. There is I photograph in the article.
