Hiaological investigations revealed 2 fundamental types of cancer metastasis to cranial

Abstract : Histologically and histochemically, in 26 rabbits ranging
in age from birth to 5-6 years, all of the chinchilla spe-
cies, a study was = de of the cerebrum and the spinal cord
with the interverteb:ul ganglia, the gasscrian ganglia, the
node-like ganglia of nervi vngi, and the vertebral sympa-
thetic ganglia of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions,
as also of the splanchnic. It was demonstrated that the

greatest number of lipoid compounds is to be found in the
conducting systems of the cerebrum and the spinal cord, as
also in the intraganglionic fibers of the sensory periphe-
ral ganglia in animals of all ages. Intracellular nodes in
the cerebral hemispheres are to be found more frequently in
the glial and adventitial, and less frequently in the nerve
cells. Pigment in the cells appears in 6-month old animals.
Much of it appears particularly in the motor cells of the
opinal cord, in the nerve cells of the cervical region of
the adjacent sympathetic trunks and in the splanchnic gan-
glia of old rabbits. The author suggests that these data
indicate a different functional load for the various sectors
of the nervous system.

ABSTRACT: This is one of a long series of articles on the subject
of detection of rail failures by means of magnetic
fields moving at speeds which are acceptable in normal
railroad operation. Increasing the speed of movement
of the test apparatus is of considerable interest in
tracks with high traffic densities. This problc-m
has been relatively little studied. In earlier parts
of this work (Ref 2 and 3), the theoretical and
experimental fundamentals of rail defectoscopy in moving
magnetic fields are described. Particularly, it is
shown that it is possible to detect defects in rails at
relatively high speeds of movement, of up to ~,10 km1hr.
It was established that magnetization of the rails by
moving sources induces in the rails relatively intensive
