TOPIC TAQSs liquid metall, smelting temperature# temperature measurement
ABSTRACTs This Author Certificate presents a device for continuous temperature
meai3urement of liquid metal.. The device is calibrated for each chemical compoBi-
tion and contains a temperature transducer and a measuring circuit, To automate
the smelting process by simultaneously measuring the liquid metal temperature and
the difference between the liquid metal and its crystallization temperatures i
according to the temperature gradient in the container, the container is made of
cooled walls of material with high thermal conductivity, e.g. copper. This contain-~
er lo in direct contact with the liquid metal (see Fig* I on the Mclosure). To
mea4sure the temperature gradient in the high thermal conductivity wallp the device
,is provided with several temperature transducers placed on the outer and inner

TEXTz Research;was carried out on a less expensive binder than phosphoric
acid for use in the production of aluminosilicate unburned refractories.
The investigations resulted in two suggested versions of a process for
producing aluminosilicate unburned refractories.: the first without a
binding agent, the second with the addition of 2 % aluminum sulfate and Oep
phosphoric acid. [Abst racter's note: Complete translation.]

ABSTRACT- The bulk of coal consists ,f a typica' hu-mus material. Ya. M.
Kuzichkin and A. 1. Ghizburg have isolated zad studied the followi-ag petro-
graphic types of these coals: (1) clarainous homogeneous coal consisting of
vitrinite-group substances (89-95.4%, sernivitr-4--lite 110.2-5.6016), fusinite
(0.4-11.816), cuti-nite, resinite; (2) clarainous complex striated coal with

ABSTRACT-- For the post twenty years (1945-64) many mental
-patienta (suffering from progressive paralysis, schizophrenia, otc.) at the
Psychiatric Clinic of the Higher Medical Institute in Sofia have boon subjected
sto intravenous inooulation with the sama Flasmodium malariao strain. The
strain was introduced in the clinic by A. Penschew and G. Usunoff in 1945.
The results of recent detailed investigations described in the paper show that
1 . after a 20-year in vivo cultivation of, Plasmodium malariso by continuous
rainoculation in patients, the schizogonic cycle of the plasmodium proceeds
normally although it does not correspond in all cases to the temperature curve;
there ara no data on mixed invasion; 2. no morphological changes wore detected,
in the asexual forms of examined Plesmodium malariao strain; and 3. no macro--
and micro gamet.ocytea were found either in the peripheral blood or in the bone

Abstract: Brief description of the funflam ntal properties of nonresonant
oscillations of a 2-segment magnetron., due to conneeting between
its segments an active resistance of a definite value. The mecha-
nism of this oscillation vas analyzed previously by Raev (Raev) A.,
Annals of the Sofia University, 1945-1946, 42p No 1, 311)-
Emphasis is placed on the role of the space charge condensations
occurring in the magnetron and inducing in the external circuit a
current that produces in turn the high frequency voltage between

on the values of the anode voltage and of the magnetic field, satis-
fying the posthumus relation with another 'value of the constant.
Experiments performed in the. meter band confirm the qualitative ideas
concerning the character of the variation of the oscillation 1.2.;tage,

ABSTRACT: The ordinary linear differential equation is considered:

It is assumed that the equation is soluble with respect

conditions defined by Eq (4). It is further assumed that
the interval 0 to t is divided into m segments
having lengths h and that all its functions have
discrete values corresponding to the dividing points of
the interval (0,1 ). The integrals can therefore be
replaced by corresponding sums which are defined by
Eq (5), where Br are constants and fr are he values
of f(x) in the r-th point. T~e function YIN) can
therefore be expressed by Yj(k). The dependence
between these functions takes the form of E s (6), (7) or
(8). If the integrals in Eqs (6), (7) and N) and the
coefficients in front of them are analogued by voltages
and transfer coefficients of certain multipoles? a system
for the integration of Bqs (3) and (1) is obtained.
Integrators of this type are shown in Figs 1-3. These
are suitable for the case when j = I - 1 and when the
sum In Eq (5) is evaluated by the rectangular formula.
The circuits of Figs 2 and 3 employ multi-winding
transformers as the analoguing multipoles. Eq (2) is
Card identical to the Volterra integral (see Eq 9). These can

TITLE: Electrical Analogue Circuits for Deflected Beams
PERIODICAL: Izvestiya vysshikh uchetiqykh zavedeniy
Elektromekhanika, 196o,ArNO.7, pp-47-50
A
TEM A quadripole analogue circuit for a static deflected beam
was proposed by Pukhov in an article published in Izvestiya of
Tomsk Polytechnical Institute in 1952. Foreign authors
independently derived similar circuits. The idea of representin
a deflected beam by a simple quadripole circuit prompted an
investigation into the possibility of extending the technique to
the modelling not only of the static deflected beam system but
also some problems of dynamic beams. The present article
considers other variants of analogue circuits for static deflected
beams and is a logical development of the basic idea of
representation by a quadripole analogue circuit. The previously-
published system of equations (1) is given for the beam
illustrated in Fig.1 which is subject to two bending moments,
two support reactions and an arbitrary distributed load. By
appropriate change of variables the simplified equations (2) and

Electrical Analogue Circuits for Deflected Beams
(3) are then written down. In these equations, the torques are
treated as voltages or potentials and the angles of deflection
as currents in an electrical circuit. It will be soon that the
equation systems (2) and (3) then correspond to the quadripoles of
Fig.2 and 3 respectively, as can easily be confirmed by applying
Kirchoff's second law to the circuit of Fig.2 and his first law
to the circuit of Fig.3. The circuits, which are analogues of
a deflected beam, contain no negative impedances and do not
require scales of different sign for input and output magnitudes
as is the case with some previously-published analogues. The
circuits may be converted to U-, T-, bridge- and other circuits VC/
in the usual way; examples are given in Fig.4 and 5. The method
of determining the boundary conditions for the circuits of
Fig.2 to 5 are then explained. Extension to the modelling of
beam systems and frames is then briefly discussed. As a check
on the analogue circuits, a number of simple problems were solved
by their use. By way of example, the moments are determined in
the frame of beams shown in Fig-7a, whose analogue circrit is
shown in 7L The circ%;_1. L~-'_.--~_':_-. 'or ar,.,

seen that agreement is goods the main error is due to asymmetry
of the emf and to the relatively low sensitivity of the measuring

TEXT: A previous paper by the author (Ref. 5) has described
the construction of certain integrating circuits. The present
article outlines analogous uses of differentiating circuits. The
equation considered is
Y :-- f(X 7 Y, 7 Y"o... Y(n))
whose particular integral is d1termined by an arbitrary linear
combination of the values Y( given in the interval 04C x < ~.

by Eq. (41 where A and P have a similar meaning. It is
sup, posed that p tlj t2j.,j ty. Then if the values of the
functions in Eq. and the corresponding coefficients are
represented as voltages and transfer coefficients of certain
multiples, we obtain the circuit of Fig. 1 where the multi-poles
are multl-winding transformers whose turns ratios are determined
by Eqs (3) and (5). The coefficients depend on the type of
interpolation formula used and are to be found from Tables in
Refs. 2 and 1+. As shown in Ref. 3, Eq. (1) can be put in the
form y(x) = L(x, Y(O), Y'(0)....)y (n-1) (0)) + K(x, 1r) Y('r,) d T ,

Since the circuit of Fig. 1 gives the derivative values at all
poi-ats of interest in the interval 0 4 x sr, -e the equation (6)
oan be solved as in Ref. (5). A practical advantage is that the
